Are you saying the pin that keeps the on off handle on is broke or is the shaft it attach's to bad? it really makes a difference as you will not be able to find just the handle you would have to replace the valve assembly to fix it. This is not that hard of a job and only costs $15.00 if the screw in the handle is stripped out you can remove it and get a bolt that will fit to fix it temporary but I would replace the whole valve assembly.

Why won't water turn off?

YOU MUST SHUT OFF WATER FIRST!! Because you need to replace the valve stem washer. Most likely OO washer size, black hard rubber washer is worn out.
Remove the excursion (handle) one or hot and cold. Phillip screw or allen nut back of handle.

You will see a brass valve stem the handle was attached to. Use a crescent wrench and unscrew the stem and pull to remove.

Ar the bottom of the stem you will see the black washer. Remove the screw holding the washer in and replace with new. Reverse steps to install.

Hope this helps, I never know. Mike

I have a Stanley Bostitch N80SB with the sequential trip kit. I have installed a new trigger valve assembly, and the unit now holds air pressure, but the trigger will not activate the plunger. I can...

The safety foot assembly pushes up on inner trigger lever which in turn pushes on the trigger valve. If the trigger valve firing pin is slightly shorter than the old trigger valve, or the inner lever is worn from use, the inner lever will not push the trigger pin all the way in. Examine the trigger and the roll pin that holds the trigger for wear and check that the safety is pushing up on the inner lever. If the trigger is worn replace or repair with metal type epoxy filling in worn spots and use a new roll pin.

Porter Cable FN250c wont shoot with every trigger pull. sometimes it shoots correctly (10% of the time), other times it just pops (no nail) and other times it shoots two nails at once. Also when it...

Worn trigger and or worn firing valve. Remove the trigger and look for wear on contact surfaces (worn pin that holds trigger, worn inner lever inside trigger, worn or loose firing pin in valve ). Easy test for worn trigger. Remove the nails, remove trigger, fire the gun against wood with finger to test for proper action. If it works better without trigger, consider replacing trigger with new (I would also order the oring repair kit that includes the firing valve )

I had a air leak in my Bostitch framing gun. I replaced the trigger valve and it still leaks air around the trigger. Any suggestions?

Remove the trigger and remove the nails, connect air. Try to determine if air is leaking from the outer edges of the valve or from the center when you move the pin. If from outer edge, remove roll pins that hold valve in the body of the gun. Apply air pressure to pop out the valve(use glove the catch the valve, it could come out with force). Examine the two outer orings of the valve for cuts and replace as needed. Clean the opening where the valve fits with 400 grit sandpaper to remove debris and check for worn areas. If clean, apply plenty of silicone paste lube on orings and opening and gently push valve back in. If it leaks from the center pin, you may have a defective valve. You could try to repair if you have access to orings. Remove valve, remove two retaining pins and take valve apart. Small orings on the center pin could be the problem. Good holidays

RN45B secquentail trip will not work; contract trip will work only when slam hard on work. I do not know what to replace. small air leak .Can you help?

Remove roll pin holding trigger. Examine trigger for wear. A loose/ worn trigger can cause problem that you describe. Also examine the roll pin that holds trigger, if it is worn where trigger rides replace pin. If trigger and roll pin look ok then problem most likely tva6 valve. This valve has a pin that wears out. Order from ebay for under $20.00. If the gun leaks air, remove head and clean orings in the headvalve. Pull cylinder and clean orings to cylinder seal. Remove fine scratches on body of gun where orings contact metal. Use 400 grit paper. Lube all orings with silicone paste (sold at lowes in the plumbing department for faucet orings). To remove tva6 valve remove two pins in body of gun and apply air pressure to pop out valve. Use glove when you catch tva6. Use caution because the valve can come out with force (lower pressure ). Good luck

Bostitch n80 framer blow by by trigger asemably

Your nailer incorporates the (tva6) trigger valve. It is available online at, cost is about $20. To examine the valve, remove nails, remove retaining pin holding trigger, remove one or two pins holding tva6 valve (the pins holding the valve are in the body/handle just above the trigger. use punch that fits snuggly in a 3mm hole). Mark the valve in relation to the body of the gun. After several pins are removed apply air pressure to pop-out the valve. Use caution because the valve can came out with force. Reduce air pressure and use heavy glove to catch the valve. With tva6 valve in hand, notice notches on side of valve for roll pins. Remove two more pins to expose the inner valve. The middle seal of the inner valve is usually the problem, it could be cracked or fits too loose. You could try replacing the seal with a tight fitting oring. May work. or just replace the valve. Good luck with your repair.

There is a thin stream of water coming out from under the shower handle of my washer-type faucet whether the shower is on or off. What is the problem and how can I fix this please?

Turn off the water, remove the handle, escuchion, and stem.
Replace all washers/O-rings. If it is a plastic stem, replace the stem.

The seals are worn, allowing water to pass by.

On some really old valves, the actual metal walls of the valve eventually get worn, and washer replacement does not completely solve the problem, or last long. In that event, replacing the valve is about the only option.
