Question about Dometic Refrigerators

1 Answer

I pulled out my refrig to replace the drain hose after disconnecting the 120v/12v/gas service (slid straight out no more than 10 degree tilt). After reinstalling and completion of reconnects I do not get any power to the display panel. I have a model# RM2862. There is 12v power from plug to thermofuse and back to board but plug to display is dead. 120v is also available on board. Gas line reinstalled and burped air from line inside at stove. What should test wire (blue #2) from board indicate (12v?) any suggestions?

LP Gas, refrig is used in an RV. Just before dark while putting up the toolage (& conceeding) I found a light inop over my stove, was working earlier today. A recheck of fuses solved the problem. Being curious I did recheck the test wire off of the board and found no difference in it's value. Will recheck previous observations again tomorrow. Thanks for your response.

Richard, sounds like you did all the pretests. You'll need a new display panel. When you work on it, be sure to cut the power.

SOURCE: Stopped working

I had a similar problem with a jvc 8040. when I replaced the fuse it became very obvious that the b1560 output on the center channel was blown (smoke and sparks, always a dead giveaway). I haven't fixed the center channel yet but simply unplugged the center channel board and removed it from the unit. Now everything works fine except of course the center channel. Pre outs still operate just fine so a slave amp could be used for center channel power, or you could just go and buy a marantz amp; I did and then I realized that I was lucky that the old jvc quit.

SOURCE: Jenn-Air Gas Range SEG196 NO CLOCK/DISPLAY

THE ONLY SOLUTION FOR THE BAD DISPLAY IS TO REPLACE THE CLOCK. I HAVE A JENN AIR OVEN TODAY AS A WORK ORDER TO REPLACE THE CLOCK FOR A FAILED DISPLAY.

FOR THE JGW8130DDB WITH NO POWER ANYWHERE, IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A SUPPLY PROBLEM. MAKE SURE THE WIRING IS HOOKED UP WITH THE RED AND WHITE WIRES RECEIVING 240 VOLTS AND THE WHITE WIRE ATTACHED TO NEUTRAL / GROUND.IF THE OVEN HAS A BARE COPPER WIRE AND THE HOUSEHOLD WIRING ONLY HAS THREE WIRES, COMBINE THE WHITE WIRE AND THE COPPER WIRE TOGETHER AND ATTACH TO THE HOUSEHOLD NEUTRAL / GROUND .
UNLESS YOU ARE SURE ABOUT THE HOOKUP IN THE BREAKER/FUSE BOX, DO NOT GO SIMPLY BY THE COLOR OF THE WIRES.

Make sure the thermister is attached firmly to the fins in the back. The boards on a Norcold can be reset a service center familiar with this process is your best bet. It takes disconecting the board and then shorting it out best to leave it to some one who is familiar.

How do I remove dishwasher

Generally they are just slid into the recess originally. Sometimes there will be metal clips on the floor holding down the back set of 2 feet, but those will not stop you pulling it out. Disconnect the power. Shut off the stop tap (faucet) on the water inlet, then disconnect the inlet hose from it (don't lose the little filter in the end of the hose). Unscrew the hose clamp on the washer drain hose where it connects to the larger waste water drain, and pull off the drain hose. It is handy to have a few old bath towels in there to sop up spilled water.

Then pull out the dishwasher in stages while feeding the slack hoses through to the back of the dishwasher. You can push cardboard under the front of the washer by lifting it a little, to protect the floor from scratches.

How do i replace the drain hose

It's a fairly big job. You have to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. Then remove the left-hand metal panel. You should now be looking at the case-brake assembly. Reach inside the dishwahsher and turn the water-inlet bezel counter-clockwise to remove it. Now you can tilt out the case-brake assembly and loosen the clamp that holds the drain hose in place. Pull the hose off (have a towel or Sham-Wow ready to catch the water). Then you have to remove the clamp or hose-restraint at the back of the dishwasher. Thaen you can pull the drain hose out and replace it.

We have a 1993 Wilderness RV with a Dometic refrigerator, brain box being of Dinosaur brand (which is ok - reaching 120 volts) Our question is on the front freezer door of the fridge is a strip plate...

Hi

Most of these mobile refrigerators can run on gas, 120v or 12v, your gas option is obviously OK, there should be electrical connections on the back of the unit which identify which cable are 12v and 120v.

Again most but not all units were multi option.

You will need to connect these points to the supply. To run this on mains 120v you will need to switch off the gas and 12v, similarly for 12v, no gas or 120v, and for gas no12v or 120v.

If you get the fridge to run on 12v remember that if it is on overnight it can reduce the battery charge.

The best options for these is gas or 120v when you have a mains hook up

Hope this helps

I have a 1/16" tilt

Your question is not very clear. Here are several answers.
By tilt you may be speaking of bevel adjustment 0 - 45 Some saws have hidden under the table or obvious positive bevel stops or screws in the table top for 90 and 45 degree. Adjust them.
You may have a bent or warped blade causing the "tilt."
Thin blades may be stiffened with blade stabilizing washers $14
With the saw unplugged remove the blade. Grab the threaded arbor shaft and pull it up and down. Next push the shaft straight in and out. If there is wiggle the bearings are worn and may need replacing.

Unplug the refrig . Inside the refrig section , remove the 4 screws ( 2 on each side ) and
lower the panel . Disconnect the large plug and remove the panel by pulling foreward to
clear the defrost drain hole .Find a food safe caulking or odorless silicon and caulk at the
upper portion where the styrofoam meets the plastic AND on the top center of the styrofoam (
all the way around the large rectangle hole ) so that the styrofoam will seal to the top of
the refrig . When the refrig goes into defrost , the water is seeping between the refrig top
and the styrofoam , causing it to run into the refrig section . When reassembling , be sure
to plug the large plug back into the refrig .
While the panel is down , use a hose inserted into the opening of the drain hole on the rear
wall , to blow thru to remove any unseen blockage in the drain line .

How do I fix a bad gas problem

If the gas is bad, The gas bowl needs to be removed and drained, it holds gas ready for the carb. disconnect the gas tube going into the bottom or bottom side of the gas tank. once it is drained, replace bowl, connect hose and re-fill. It may take a few tries, priming it first will reduce the pulling time. It shoots new gas straight to the carb.

Do i have to take the dash apart to change the heater core on a s-10 pickup

Sorry, your going to have to remove the dash.
  • Remove the front dash panel by turning the lower screws in a counter-clockwise direction, then unscrewing the single bolt on the lip of the instrument cluster and pulling the panel out. Remove the rear wiper switch and the 4x4 switches, if applicable. Lowering the tilt wheel will allow the panel to be totally removed.
  • Remove the radio, headlight switch module and glove box by turning their screws in a counter-clockwise direction.
  • Remove the main dashboard by unbolting it at the front, between the windshield and firewall. There are six to eight bolts holding it in, and, once they are removed, the dash can be pulled away from the firewall. Be careful not to pull too much, as the wiring harness could become damaged.
  • Drain the coolant system by turning the drain plug on the lower left corner of the radiator and allowing the fluid to fall into the drain pan. Uncapping the radiator can reduce the internal pressure.
  • Remove the heater core hose, on the upper left of the engine bay by pinching their hose clamps with a pair of pliers and pulling them off. Some models will have screw-type hose clamps; turning them counter-clockwise will loosen them. Age and heat may have stuck the hoses to the core nipples, and the hoses can be cut right at these nipples if necessary. Leave enough hose to reconnect the new core.
  • Unbolt the heater core's mounts with a socket wrench in a counter-clockwise direction. Once the bolts are free, the heater core can be maneuvered toward the windshield and slid out. Some coolant may splash out, so have a towel handy.
  • Replace the heater core with a new one by sliding it into place and securing the mounting bolts.
  • Reconnect the heater core's hoses, turn the radiator's drain plug clockwise to close it, then refill the coolant system with a 50/50 percent mix of coolant and water.
  • Reconnect the dashboard to the firewall, then replace the front dash panel and fasten its instrument cluster screw and bottom bolts.
  • Crank up the Jimmy and add coolant until the heater core is filled and blowing hot air.
  • Replace the radiator cap.
Good luck and make sure you have lots of time and use the camera on your cell phone and take pictures to use as reference.
