Check if a foreign material (like paper) is stracked inside the machine.
Usually we find paper on the right side of the machine above the purge unit.

Why does my nuvi 1490 keep turning off?

My first question is: Is this happening when connected to an external power source such as a car charger/adapter? or is this while on battery power? If on battery power, then the battery is not fully charged or is weak and can not hold a full charge. There is another possibility too and that is that the battery is not receiving voltage from the charger because the rear mini-USB port is loose (a common problem on the Nuvi 11xx, 12xx, 13xx, 14xx & 25xx models). One more issue can be the firmware version. Older firmware was unstable and caused the unit to reboot. If you are getting constant pop-up messages that the unit is about to shut down, then this is a good indication of a USB port issue (loose or broken). When this happens, the battery can not be charged and the unit will turn off. More information can be found here: SHARCNET USA Out of Warranty GPS Digital Camera Repair

What does the error message - 49.4C02 - mean?

49 errors are often caused by the printer receiving commands it does not understand. Sometimes hardware failures but not often. To determine hardware or software, turn the printer off. Unplug any network or USB cables attached and turn printer on. If it will come to ready with no cables attached, then likely you have a print job that is causing problems. This can be fixed by installing the latest firmware from HP.com. Download the Easy Firmware Update Utility version. To install this update you need to have the printer connected to the computer, so check the print queues to make sure that there are no print jobs pending, delete them if there are. Plug the network or USB cable back in. Wait a couple of minutes to make sure that the 49 error does not come back. If printer stays on ready, run the upgrade utility and your problems should be gone. If it is a hardware issue then a different set of trouble shooting steps applies. Post back if this does not fix your problem.

We have a M2727 Laserjet Printer/Fax . We can print, and we can receive fax, but our problem is sending a FAX.. Keeps giving us an error code of 49. Please advise Thank-You, Marla

I found this on the HP website:

HP LaserJet M2727 Multifunction Printer Series - 49 Error Message Is Displayed While Faxing ISSUE: The printer control panel will be displaying 49 service error while sending faxes. The receiving fax will be lost, and the printer will display the same error even after reboot. SOLUTION: Performing a factory reset and a firmware upgrade is the only solution for this issue. Step 1: Performing a factory reset Restoring the factory-set defaults returns all of the settings to the factory defaults, and it also clears the fax header name and phone number. CAUTION: This procedure clears fax numbers and names that are associated with one-touch keys and speed-dial codes, and deletes any pages that are stored in the memory. The procedure then automatically restarts the product. Perform the following steps to restore the factory-set defaults: 1. On the product control panel, press Setup . 2. Use the arrow buttons to select Service , and then press OK . 3. Use the arrow buttons to select Restore defaults , and then press OK . The product automatically restarts. Step 2: Firmware upgrade After coming to ready, upgrade the printer firmware from the HP website. The issue can be fixed with any of the firmware upgrade available now. Firmware version 20080505 and higher versions have the fix. You can download firmware version 20080612 from the HP LaserJet M2727 Firmware Update 20080612 webpage. Click here to go to the HP LaserJet M2727 Firmware Update 20080612 webpage (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=3377075&swItem=ma-55531-3&prodNameId=3377076&swEnvOID=228&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=3) . The preceding steps will resolve the issue.

Will not read any game disk. keeps appearing error 80010514

Basically, what is occuring is the corruption of game disc recognition and execution. If you will notice, in 90% of all cases, the drive will still play DVD and even Blu Ray movies with no problems. When trying to start a game however, the title, sooner or later, will receive the error.

The error is not hardware related and is caused due to corruption of firmware. Restoring you PS3 will not roll back the firmware, and unfortunately will not fix the issue 9 times out of 10. If you are receiving this error, contact Sony for a replacement unit.

Eror code 80010514 apears when i try and load a game

Hi

The error is not hardware related and is caused due to corruption of firmware,

According to Sony this is a probable cause of the error:

The error code is actually one of two things, a) a faulty sector on the internal hard drive, or

b) a faulty installation of software/firmware, both iterations actually coincide with eachother.

If the hard drive suffers a faulty sector ( a section of damaged space on the drive that data may have been written to that no longer is readable), an installation may still be processed, and even work, but the error can cause some serious side effects, such as option b. If your PS3 has installed an item incorrectly, including firmware, it is in high risk of receiving this error.

Basically, what is occuring is the corruption of game disc recognition and execution. If you will notice, in 90% of all cases, the drive will still play DVD and even Blu Ray movies with no problems. When trying to start a game however, the title, sooner or later, will receive the error.

Restoring you PS3 will not roll back the firmware, and unfortunately will not fix the issue 9 times out of 10. If you are receiving this error, contact Sony for a replacement unit

Please note as a PS3 owner you need to take care of few things listed below even if your console is running fine, in order to prevent your console getting bricked

1) Ensure that your internet connection is stable. If you are using a wireless connection, make sure your signal is at least a solid 80%. If not, make the proper adjustments until it is.

2) Dust your machine regularly. Any PS3 owner will tell you that the Playstation 3 is a dust magnet. Just run a dry cloth over it every couple days, and you should be fine. This will help prevent heat issues and shorts that may occur.

3) When installing firmware and/or software, make sure you follow the instructions. Even if you have installed 6 versions prior, each one is different, and may require additional steps. Save yourself the headache and just follow them, it only takes a minute or so longer to do it right.

My xbox 360, had the E74 error problem, with 1 red light! I fixed that, but now it starts up as a working xbox but when i put a game in it wont play it, and just says play Dvd, can u help Please!

Hello rickster32

As you have mentioned that you got a E74 error problem which you got fixed up, E74 problem is a hardware related issue so the problem you are now facing is linked to a messed up dvd rom firmware issue.

It is very much possible that post you have fixed E74 problem your dvd-rom firmware could have gone corrupt and now is not recognizing the game discs and only playing dvd's

It would be advisable to send your unit to MS support if in case it is under warranty

I have a Denon AVR 4806. I use hdmi cables for my connection. I lose the picutre for about 15 seconds every 20 to 30 minutes. I still have sound but just lose picture. How can I fix this?

Hi,

In short, HDMI will not work.
HDMI is riddled with issues, your's is just one of many!
HDMI version 1.1,1.2,1.2a,&1.2b do not work 100% on any receiver.

The current version is 1.3b and "so far" it works...

Now the bad news; It's not just a software patch to fix the problem, it's a hardware issue as well. If your unit is still under warranty, the manufacturer will update hardware and software for you at N/C. If it's out of warranty, it's way too expensive to have done!

The fix is to run your HDMI directly to your TV from source, ie. Cable,DVD, etc. then run coaxial digital or optical to your receiver for audio.

Hope this helps.

If you need furthur assistance you can leave me comments, i may help you

Why can't update the firmware of streetpilot C330 ?

I would suggest getting in touch with the Garmin tech support. You may have to send the unit back for a hardware fix. There were some issues with new updates in some of their older products.

If the unit is working okay and you see no issues, you may find better value to leave it alone, and over time save up for a newer unit. If you look at their new NUVI series, these are far improved from the generation of the one you presently have.
