Neff side by side

Light is on, showing temp of -19 and 2 but neither are working. Everything defrosted in freezer. We have had very cold weather for the past few days, would this have anything to do with it. This applicance is only about 1 year old

Someone left the door slightly open. Cold weather has nothing to do with it. To check the seal take a dollar bill and place it in the jam hanging onto part of it close the door on the bill and then pull it. It should be tightly fit when you pull on the bill. Is the unit a refer or freezer? Is it inside or out.

The freezer and ice maker are not working properly I have a side by side fridge freezer

Check your freezer temp. If it is not 10 degrees or less the icemaker will not work.

And if the temp does not go below that you have a problem with your cooling unit - perhaps the defrost cycle is not working and you have ice accumulating in back of freezer. Check for that.

I moved my freezer to the shed 6 months ago as soon as the cold weather hits the freezer has stopped working. The light is on inside and out, defrost timer is working. I?m thinking thermostat or compressor

Freezers & Fridges were not designed to operate in extreme cold conditions. They are designed to operate at room temp. It could be sending an inaccurate temp signal to the thermostat due to extreme low temp outside.

Freezer works good, refrigerator does not get cold

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Fridge don't work after defrosting session

It depends on weather or not you damaged it during the defrost. Most fridges' are self defrosting. Look at the coils behind the back cover inside the freezer. They should be covered in a light frost if the compressor is working right. Or Is the fan in the freezer running. It has to blow the cold air around the freezer and to the fridge side. It may cut off when the door is open so hold the door switch in to check. The humming in the freezer could be the fan trying to run but can't because of a defective fan or being blocked by somthing.

You can turn the defrost timer till it clicks and everything shuts down. The heater should now come on. If it does, replace the timer. If it doesn't, check the heater and defrost thermostat. Turn the timer again till everything starts back up to end the defrost cycle.
