Have her dial *82 before she dials the home number. If that works she has the cell phone set to block her number. *82 should unblock it for just that one call.

I would like to block a mobile phone number so I dont receive any calls or text messages. can you advise how to do this I have a samsung mobile phone

I think there is no option in your phone for it but If you have the cell phone number, call your cell service provider and tell them the number you want to block. If its an unknown number, there is no real way to block it.

MY CELL PHONE IS NOKIA 5233. SOME ONE iS HARASSING ME AND CALLING ME FROM DIFFERENT NUMBERS ..HOW DO I BLOCK HIS NUMMBERS........?

most carriers will not allow you to block individual calls...so the very next best thing is to change the number (call the carrier and tell them that you really need to change your number)

hope this help

I want to block a particular number from calling my K800i. Can you help me?

hi friend,
    Prevent Telemarketing Calls
  1. With more people switching to using their cell phones as their primary phone number, it has become easier than ever for your phone number to make its way onto the call lists of telemarketers. You can block these calls by registering your number with the Federal Trade Commission's Do Not Call list at www.donotcall.gov. Registrations need only be made once and will not expire. Telemarketers are required to update their lists by removing new numbers from the Do Not Call list, but it may take up to a month before the companies hassling you do so; after this month has passed, complaints can be filed with the Federal Communications Commission at esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.
  2. Block Calls with Your Handset
  3. Many mobile phones have the capability to block unwanted calls directly within their settings. Typically, such calls are either dropped entirely or are automatically routed to voice mail. You may also have the option of setting individual numbers to neither ring nor vibrate your phone, in which case you'll still receive the call, but since your phone will not alert you, there is no danger of it interrupting you. Check your phone's manual for details about whether your phone has this capability; alternately, the discussions at Howard Forums are an excellent resource for every make and model of cell phone.
  4. Contact Your Cell Provider
  5. Some companies offer call blocking as a centralized network service. Usually, there will be options either to create a list of blocked numbers or to prevent all calls except those from a list of pre-approved numbers. This option may not be as attractive as the others, as your provider may charge a monthly fee for this service, or it may make updating your lists more difficult. However, a distinction is made for calls that are deemed to be harassment or stalking; such calls should be blocked by your carrier at no charge.
  6. Use an Intermediary Service
  7. Finally, another option is to use a secondary incoming call number, such as the one provided by Google Voice. Intermediary services such as this one give you a new number and allow you to directly control the circumstances under which each contact's calls are forwarded to your phone. For example, you can set up Google Voice so that only your known contacts call your cell phone, and only at particular hours; other calls may go to your home phone, or straight to voicemail.
instruction:
step 1
Call your cell phone carrier. Dial 611 from your cell phone to reach customer service and tell your provider that you would like to request line block. The representative from your carrier may ask you a few questions, but the process is quick and painless.
  • Step 2 Dial *82 if you need to unblock your number. Once you have put line block on your phone, you can temporarily take it off by dialing *82 before dialing out.
  • Step 3 Block a specific call. If you do not want to put line block on your cell phone permanently, you can block your number temporarily on a call-by-call basis.
  • Step 4 Dial *67 before dialing out to just block that particular call. After entering *67, proceed to dial the rest of the number as usual.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • If you use temporary blocking, you should dial your own home phone number, if you have caller ID, to test to see if the block is working.
    • Do not block your number just to commit prank calls, fraud or crime.
    hope this helps u

I don'tknow how to block a contact on a lg arena phone

    please follow the steps carefully

    1. Step 1 Call the T-Mobile customer servicemag-glass_10x10.gif phone number located on your phone bill. Tell them you would like to hear about T-Mobile's call blocking service. The customer service then tells you how you can block all the calls coming from your T-Mobile cell phone by adding this service to your plan. When you select this service, anytime you dial a number from your T-Mobile cell phone, the number will come up Restricted on the call receiver's caller ID.
    2. Step 2 Dial *67 prior to any number on your T-Mobile phone that you want to block, if you want to just block one call at a time and choose which numbers you dial are blocked. This is another way you can call someone and to have it appear as a Restricted call on the other end.
    3. Step 3 Program your T-Mobile phone to block all calls to any one individual. Do this by tapping Add a Contact on your T-Mobile phone. Type in the name of the person you want to call. Then tap Add Phone Number. Punch in *67 then the number.
    4. Step 4 Tap the person's name to call him, when you have the person's number programmed into your phone with the *67 first. Every time you tap the person's name, you will be calling him from a blocked number.
    hope you dooooo...

If you want to block your cell phone number on a call by call basis you need to dial *67 before dialing the number. Ex *67 (555) 555-5555.
Blocking Your Cell Phone Number Permanently:
The most permanent solution is to request a "line block" from your cell phone carrier.

Unfortunately, Sprint does not have the ability to block single numbers from calling you. We can either block all incoming calls, all outgoing calls, or both, but not particular numbers.
