Question about GPS

1 Answer

Just purchased a Nav500 and found out after getting it home that it is discontinued. Trouble is, I like it and want to upgrade the SD card. What is the biggest memory capacity card it will work with? Anybody know?

Thanks, just wanted to make sure, as I was told that anything above a 2G was considered HC and nowhere in my manual for this unit does it say anything about HC. Just shows a standard SD card at 1.5G. So you know that an 8G will work with this? Thanks again.

Someone was telling you bull. You can get an 8 Gig SD card from best buy,,

And don't forget you always have a 30 day instore warranty on anything you purchase with receipt. It's the law.

How do I download South African maps for my newly purchased Motonav tn20

You have to do a software upgrade first. But, before doing the upgrade I would suggest you make a backup of your GPS's SD micro card by purchasing another micro SD micro card and make a duplicate copy. In so doing, if ever you want to use your default map, you just insert the old map. For instruction on how to do an upgrade, please go to the link below:

Unable to download map onto tomtom one xl

If you have an older tt xl it will only take up to a 2gb sd card. Larger than that you will get errors.
Hope this helps

Where can I get a hard drive to purchase

You cannot upgrade the harddrive on an Mp3 player. You would have to buy components from a place like Samsung (but they probably would not sell to you), and make a custom-built Mp3 player. If this Sansa is the type that can take SD cards, you can expand the number of songs available somewhat by getting a 1GB SD card - anything bigger than 1GB MIGHT work, but then again, it might not.

TOMTOM 510 not reading SD card

I did find out how to solve the problem. I can't remember exactly where I found the solution but I think it was on TOMTOM website. You have to connect to TOMTOM home and reinstall the application. I put the TOMTOM disc in the computer (which came with purchase) and reinstalled the program. Which I thought was weird as everything appeard to be fine with TOMTOM home). Anyway, it worked. Good luck.

If you have the programs downloaded from tomtom home then you need to copy them to the sd card that you purchased. In the home program you can choose to install the programs and map to the sd card. It takes a bit of a search to get the tomtom home program understood. The credit card with the codes is an authorization code for the program.
