Question about IBM Color Scanner Flatbed Scanner
I have an old IBM color flatbed scanner. My new computer does not have a parallel port, so I used a USB cord (female parallel to USB) to connect to the computer. I can't get the computer to recognize it's there.
Not likely to work reliably if you get it to work.
The parallel port must be set to communicate in both directions. The SUB to Parallel adapter may be a ONE-WAY communications device.
Get a new (or used) Epson scanner or Epson all-in-one ($50) which includes a scanner and printer! Your new computer may not have the proper drivers for your old IBM scanner, anyway. If you purchase an Epson all-in-one, get a "WorkForce" model - that's their latest product line.
