Question about Car Audio & Video
I replaced a battery in my 97 328i BMW it has a Alpine model C43 US BMW Business, and is asking for a code: the radio won't play. Mark
This radio can be decoded via radio serial, no need to apply to dealers and supply car VIN numbers and proove ownership, no chip EEPROM readings...
You can order Alpine BMW radio codes online here, codes are calculated from radio serial numbers

First make sure that the code has not been noted somewhere within the car (underneath the ash tray, glove box , rear of sun visor etc)
To see if your code is available here for free then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard (and if you are lucky, someone may have written the code on the casing ) .
If not then POST ANOTHER QUESTION
quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING
Also quote the MAKE of CAR
note: Unfortunately not all radios can be decoded using the Serial Number
If not then try your Main Dealer ...........or take it into a Decode Service who will plug in a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM). This takes a few minutes and shouldn`t be too expensive

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
