I have dish network in two different rooms, and both remote controls are picking up on the two different TV's at the same time. How do I prevent this and specify ONE remote for one TV, and ONE for the other?
Take 1 of your tv 2 remotes to is designatedrecvr., press the menu button on tv 1 rem and then 6-1-3, this will enter sys info one. look at the remote add. in box i for tv 1 and box j for tv 2 change the tv 2 to a differnt number than tv 1 by pressing the SAT button till all mode light light up then release, enter a number between 1- 15 but other than tv 1 rem addr. and the the pound key below number 9. then press record 3 times if successful the number you entered will display and tv 2 rem addr. the problem is that both tv 2 remotes are on teh same rem addr number. by changing one of them it will resolve your issue.

Our remotes can all function independently. If the family room is TV1, then you can definitely program the remote there and have no complications with the TV2 (As long as the frequencies are different). Keep in mind our remotes are not guaranteed to work all types of equipment, but we have many steps and options to get it working.

Hi this is Phillip Chang from DISH Network. Sorry to hear you have been having that remote issue, let's get that fixed. The problem may in fact be that your receiver is currently in Single Mode when you want it to be in Dual mode. Check that the amber "Mode" light on the front panel of your DISH receiver is lit on the right hand side (indicated by two overlapping squares), if it's not then we want to press the mode button, located behind the door on the right side facing the receiver. Most times this fixes it.
Hello, the problem that you are having is fairly simple to solve. The tv is causing interference with the remote. It sounds like you're at TV1, and TV1 remote is an IR remote. You need to get a UHF remote, and that will stop the interference so that you can continue to enjoy your tv! You can e-mail me at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
I saw your post. Are you still having problems programming your DISH remote to the Magnavox DVD player? Some of the codes are different for the different remote models. I have supply some codes for you. The codes are 829, 685, 533, 554, or 556. The instructions are also included below. I hope this helps.

robbiequalls, from what it sounds like it could be the receiver is in Single Mode which means both TV's function as one. Pushing mode on the lower right side of the receiver to put it into Dual should fix the problem.
If the receiver doesn't have the mode button I would check the cabling to make sure the TV's are mirrored to eachother.
You have a dual receiver and 2 remotes. make sure that receiver is in dual mode. That you press the sat key on remote 2 if it will still not operate take remote 2 to the receiver. With remote #1 press the menu button twice you should then be on they system info screen. Pick up remote #2 press and hold sat key until it blinks press record 3 times . press red power button and if tv2 light goes off and on the remote should work again for tv2 . Use remote #1 press select exit screen,
Hello walker3putt, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Is this remote an IR or UHF? There are ways of reprogramming the remote to the receiver. If this is and IR remote for an independent receiver then you can try pulling the smartcard out and System Information will come up on the TV. Look at the Remote Address on the TV and write down the number. Then Hold Sat until all lights on top of remote light up. Let go of the Sat button and pick a number from 1-15 and then press # and Record. Your remote address should change. If there isn't a smartcard in the receiver then try the menu button on the front of the receiver. If this is a secondary remote and is UHF you will have to take remote 2 to the room where the receiver is located and follow the same steps.
To control a Dish Network PVR/Satellite, it needs to be set to respond to the default Remote Address (1).
To reset your Dish Network PVR/Satellite to the default Remote Address:
1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address. 2. Using the original Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT. 3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button 4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times. 5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1. 6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen. 7. Your Harmony remote should now control your Dish Network PVR/Satellite box
NOTE: Dish Network PVR/Satellite receivers sometimes have two tuners, allowing them to be used in more than one room on different TVs. Harmony remotes can only control a Dish Network receiver's main tuner while still in the same room with direct line of sight to the device.
