Two of the paddles came off in my Kenmore dryer. How do I reinstall them?

  • kimcotoia Oct 01, 2009

Do you know how I would remove the front cover? I looked and could not see any screws (other than the ones that appear to hold the door on). Thanks!

Remove front cover then remove top cover you can then access the outer surface of drum to reinstall paddles

  • Anonymous Oct 02, 2009

most dryers nide them as asthetics so look around the lower front panel and slightly up at a 45 degree angle, some are hidden behind the dryer door you'll find them, also on some dryers the top cover needs removal first, manufacturers design vary, also look on sides right near front the screws could be here and they indent the landings for looks too..... good luck let me know, we'll find them. they cant hide forever (LOL) thanks dan

Coins inside Kennmor dryer drum paddles

You will need a thin putty knife. Run the drier to get it warm inside. Use the putty knife to slip under the paddles and lift them just enough to let the coins drop out when you rotate and raise the drum on that side.

I have a Kenmore 500 series dryer. The dryer just stopped working but the light stays on when the door is closed.

the door switch is broke.when you push on the paddle of the door switch the lite should go out,if you don't see the paddle it most likely broke off,you need to send the full model number next time,it will start with 110.or similar.the door switch is a safety so the machine won't run until the door is closed,if the switch is broke no power will go to start the dryer

One of the paddles inside my dryer came off. The dryer is otherwise working fine. There are holes where the paddle was attached. Do I need to reinstall this paddle or can I get by with just two paddles? Is...

Yes, it may present a fire hazard. The lint will build up after time and has the possibilty of catching on fire. There are screws that help maintain the baffle to the drum.
I would say, go to Searspartsdirect.com to find the baffle you need and you will save some money I mean since your dryer is working fine.

Kenmore Elite Dryer with loose paddle- can I glue?

Unplug the dryer.
Remove the lint filter.
Remove the screws at the lint filter opening.
Pop the lid clips on the left and right front corners of the cabinet.
Rotate the drum counterclockwise until a tumble vane(paddle) is at the 12 o'clock position.
Tighten the screws going through the drum.
Repeat this for the other 2 vanes.
Re-assemble the dryer.

My kenmore series dryer is making noise as it runs. It heats but makes a noise as if coins are in the dryer. I cannot see anything from inside the dryer, is there a way to remove the front face of the...

there's 2 basic ways to removing the front panel. First is 2 screws at the very bottom of the front panel, when removed the panel can be lifted and un-hinged from the top. The other is by using a flat screw driver and prying the top up at the edges on the front side the removing 2 screws or hex screws located inside the front panel toward the top. make sure you undo door swich wires before completely removing the front panel. then in the middle of the drum on the inside of it either 1-3 screws hold the drum to the back. Remove belt first then screws then pull drum straight out. The noise may be from your rear drum bearing or coins have gotten in the paddles of the drum(inside) paddles can be removed. I had coins in one of my paddles, made 60some cents lol at same time found perfctly round lint balls. Good Luck
