Hey there Charlie,

I'm afraid it looks like your Micro-SD card itself is corrupt and that you'll have to Format it in order to use it again. Unless you already had a backup of the data on the card, it's quite likely that you will have to lose the current data. :( Sorry about your bad R4 card experience, hope things get better for you in the future.

R4 was playing games on DS without any problem. Then at one point when my daughter put it back in DS to use, when it came to the screen to list the games on the chip for her to pick one to play, it would...

Back up the games to a folder on your HD on your PC.
Assuming its a orignal R4 card, format the memory card by inserting it in your pc, right clicking on the drive letter that pops up, click 'format', click yes.
Now, download these files and drag and drop them EXACTLY the same as the appear when opening them (2 folders and few files) to the root of your memory card:
(number 15)
Put these files on, then drag and drop your game(s) back ups ;) to the memory card, should be good to go.
If that fails, could be broken/ dirty memory card, give it blow and also in the cartidge port.
Other than that Im not sure
Hope this helps.

R4 ..Im Clueless!

you need to go to youtube and look up the r4 files required to run r4, you need to choose what system you will use when using the card as you dont simply just drag games in to the card directory you actually need the operating files as well for the card or it will not recognise it. hope this helps, tim

When the R4 card loaded up it deleted a lot of my

Honestly, first i would copy al of your ROMs to your computer, and if you want to keep you saved game, copy the .sav files also. Then after that, make sure you have the newest kernel on your computer. Then delete everything on your R4 card. correctly install your kernel on the card again (and if you dont know or remember how to do this, i have written a guide for it) and copy your roms (and .sav files!) back on to your R4 card. PS: it would be better to only copy the kernel at first, load the R4 card in you ds, then after that, load the roms and/or the .sav files.

Black Screen with : Loading... on it

Get the memory card out of your R4 adaptor, putt it into a card reader.
Connect the card reader to your pc and goto Start/run.

Run this command: chkdsk /x /f /r x:

Putt for "x:" the drive letter where your card reader is at.

If the file system is repaired download the newest R4 Kernel and unpack it to your memory card, use 7zip, this software is free
and handles zip and rar files + many other types.

R4 Kernel:

Use safe removal to disconnect your card reader, so that the file system at the memory
card wont get damaged.

If this wont work, you'll have to format your memory card using fat32 and unpack afterwards
the kernel files to the memory card.

To format goto start/run and use this command: Format x:

"x:" Is again the drive letter where your card reader is at.

R4 Problem loading error

Get this file extract the file with winrar, and copy the files to the DS card. The file structure should have is:
  • _system_
  • moonshl
You should now put your .nds files onto the root of the card also, and hopefully all should work OK for you

Couldn't dind ds-menu.dat using R4 card

first of all , check your r4 version.
there are many.

have you put the right firmware on your r4?
original :

r4 revolution pro :
r4 ultra and de luxe :
r4 III :

after that it should work.
or maybe you should format your memory card first.
