I HAVE A SONY XM 754HX AMP BUT IT GOES ON PROTECTION MODE

I HAVE A SONY XM 754HX AMP BUT EVERYTIME I TURN IT ON THERE IS NO SOUND COMING OUT OF IT AND THE HI- VOLTAGE, OVER CURRENT, OFFSET AND THE THERMAL LIGHT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I TRIED DISCONNECTING ALL THE WIRES AND REWIRED THE WHOLE CAR BUT STILL. I CHECKED THE VOLTAGE AND CURRENT, THEY ARE FINE. I HAVE ANOTHER AMP IN THE BOOT AND THAT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH THE SAME WIRING. I CHECKED ALL CENNECTIONS AND THEY ARE FINE. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF SOME ONE CAN HELP.

I have a sony 2/1 channel power amplifier (XM-2165GTX) that will produce sound untill my pioneer headunit (deh-3050) hits 25 in volume..the sub then goes into protection mode and will not turn off..not...

Not enough power going to the amp..?
Solutions:

1) Your negative ground wire needs to be in a better spot.
scrape paint from the grounding surface.. This will ensure better contact between the negative power wire terminal and the vehicle ground.

2) Get thicker wiring cables.. for Positive, and Negative

3)Turn the gain right down.

The amp turns on but goes to protection mode

Have you checked the REM wire, if it is the wiring may have gotten fried.

Or you may need to get new parts replaced within the amp.

Both issues happened to me.

Sony car stereo

When the amplifier shows an offset fault, it's generally because there is DC voltage present on the speaker terminals. The amp has shut down to protect the speakers.

My amp protection light keeps coming on

If the amp is in protect mode, it probably has shorted output transistors. To eliminate other possible problems, read through the following page.

Amp protection

Hi, Off hand, I believe there is nothing wrong with the setup, maybe just not 100% compatible. It's just that the Sony Amp's protection is doing its job (just too good) and the stock radio is likewise doing it's job (but not too good). Just maybe, at poweron, the stock radio sends out a small burst output (maybe capacitor discharge) that we normally hear as a slight thump in the speakers which was when no Sony amp, ok. However, when you have added the amp, you also amplified the thump, which unfortunately the Sony protection reacts to. You can off course let it be since you have figured out a way to make it work or you can try and install a delay on for the power amp or separate it's power on from the stock stereo. The idea is to turn on the stereo with the Sony off and after a second or less, a manual switch or a delay activated switch will turn on the Sony. The idea is to switch on the Sony after the thump has finished. Good luck and hopes this gives you an idea. Pls post back how things turn up. Kind regards.
