Question about Sony Televison & Video
I have a Vega Trinitron XBR KV-36XBR250 36 inch that is 10 years old. We have had no problem with it until now. The picture flashes on and off and the display (4) appears - then this repeats. The sound is fine. It seems fine for a while until we change a station or forward the DVR. The red light stays on with no blinking. We had the cable guy come out thinking it was the DVR connection, but to no avail. Do we need a new remote for the TV??
Its a Good Chance your CRT is shorting out,You can try replacing CRT board on Neck of picture tube, sometimes you get lucky and its CRT socket pinns on crt board, but I would replace crt board first and If it is Picture Tube, Its Not Worth fixing! Most of the time Hori output will short along with FBT being bad then if you replace them then you find out TUBE is bad and that was what caused other parts to go out!
But first if you can solder, resolder all poor connection Look for any swollen or puffed up capacitors if you see any like that they are Bad, then its up to you about getting crt board.
