The screen went black then the power shut off. Now when I try to power it up I get blue lights like it wants to start then they go out ,flicker back on then go out and stay

First thing I would suggest is to try a different power outlet. Also was this monitor attached to a surge protector?

The 920nw did have a 3 year warranty on the unit but they will be out of warranty now. The flickering power light is an indication of a failure in the power supply board. When the board fails it can't start up correctly and the power shuts down over and over so you get the blinking light and no display. This is a very common failure point on all LCD monitors after a few years of use. There are parts called capacitors on the power supply board and they filter the output power. When they fail the power is not properly regulated and the power supply shuts down and tried to restart so you get the flashing. Problem with the Power supply.

Sounds like you back light or LCD inverter is going out, If you don't hear a whine then it is just the LCD screen, if you hear that whine then it is the inverter. An inverter will run 40-60 dolloars as opposed to and LCD screen which usually start around 100 and go up...

Since it seems as though you dont move it very much you might be able to hook an external monitor up to it and using the Fn+F5 button swap it to use the external monitor untill you can get it repaired.

Yep, 95% chance it is the power inverter problem.
If you don't remember the screen having a pink tint or flickering for a while or being dark at the middle top or bottom before it went, then your bulbs should be okay.
It will need at least all the capacitors replaced.
I fix many of these types on ebay.

try another battery and if the lights just blink briefly....your main-board sounds like it is damaged so you may need a new one.
