My samsung s1050 keeps locking up intermitantly. beem stays on.lens freezing.have to re insert batterys over and over to get working. any ideas?

The Samsung S1050 is very battery hungry - make sure you use very fresh new batteries, rechargeable are great - the higher the mAh rating the better. I use Intec rechargeable batteries which are rated at 2900 mAh. If you do use rechargeables, you will have to set the appropriate menu setting for battery type to reflect the type of batteries used.

Samsung S1050 -out of focus - beeps twice and switches off

The drop indicates that you have damaged the lens tube (housing). This damage will prevent the lens from moving properly and will cause the camera to shut itself off after a few seconds. If the lens is damaged the camera will require professional repair. If the lens is not damaged, the problem may be battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Why is part of a picture missing?

The cause and solution may include one of the following: Something was blocking the lens when the picture was taken. Keep hands, fingers, or other objects away from the lens when taking pictures. Your eye or the picture was not centered correctly in the viewfinder or LCD. Leave space around the subject when centering the picture in the viewfinder or the LCD.
