The firmware is corrupted, formatter (mainboard) on the printer is damaged, there is nothing you can do to fix it. Take it to an authorized repair center

Sounds like a bad formatter. I would try a firmware upgrade first and if unsuccessful, would replace the formatter. These formatters are infamous for failure.
From HP.com - he printer is experiencing a critical printing error. Unplug the printer for five minutes, and then plug it back in. If the error persists, contact HP customer service at the number provided on the support flyer included with the printer, or visit http://www.hp.com .
I need a bit more information. Does it print at all or just does'nt copy?
If it does'nt print at all the problem is generally the toner cartridge. Have you tried changing the cartridge?
I had the same problem and just solved it by going into Setup - then Fax Setup - then All Faxes - Then Speed - and lowering the speed from fast to medium. Sure it's a couple seconds slower, but it finally works!!!

Solution-disconnect power cord wait at least 30second ,then reconnect the power cord wait for product to intialize.If error persisit upgrade firmware
Up grade what? Are you adding more paper trays, a duplexer? Need more info.
