Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

On my TI-84 Plus: Once I go to STAT Edit it asks me to name the tables, and when I try to put in L1, it gives me a message saying ERR: ARCHIVED. What do I do??

You already have a list L1 archived in memory.

You have two choices. You can either choose another name or you can unarchive the existing L1. To unarchive a list, press 2ND [MEM] 2 4 then use the arrow keys to move the highlight to the line containing L1 (there should be an asterisk "*" in front of the name). Press ENTER and the asterisk should disappear. Press 2ND [QUIT] to return to the home screen.

I am curently taking Statistics and when I hit "stat" then enter information into the L1, L2 , L3 area etc then I go to stat again and press calc and choose option 1 then in the list area I need...

I have followed your description and entered bogus data in Lists L1, L2, and L3.
I hit STAT then CALC then Option 1, which is 1-Var Stats. In this context you have only one set of data. If the data set contains many repeated values you can enter the frequency for each (repeated) data item in List L2, inserting 1 if an item is not repeated.
Thus when you do 1-Var Statistics you have at most two Lists (L1 contains the data values, and L2 their frequencies).
If you press the 1-Var Stats calculation option, the calculator takes L1 as the default data list so you see List:L1 and the ALPHA cursor blinking
On the secoond line you see Frequency: and nothing else on the line.
On the third line you have Calculate.
If Your data is not in L1, you can change that by pressing the [2nd][2] (L2), or [2nd][3] (L3). Only one list is specified there, so no need for the comma to separate. (you are doing 1-var Stat).

If your frequency data is in L2 you must specify it on the line Frequency. However, since the ALPHA keyboard is activated you must deactivate it first by pressing the ALPHA key. After that press [2nd][2] to select L2 or [2nd][3] to specify L3
If there is no frequency list, leave the Line frequency empty.

My calculator is TI-83 plus. I get Err: data type every time I want to use lists to calculate something. For example I enter 5,10,15,20,25 in list 1 and 5,5,5,5,5 in list 2. Then in list 3 I type L1/L2,...

You can't manipulate lists like that.

{5,10,15,20,25}[STO>]L1
{5,5,5,5,5}[STO>]L2

These will input your lists properly. I'm not sure what you're trying to do, but if you're just trying to divide every entry in L1 by 5 and store it in L3, you could accomplish that with:

{5,10,15,20,25}[STO>]L1
L1/3[STO>]L3

Also, this page gives a lot of helpful tips on using lists on a TI-83.

Hope this helps!

I want to enter in numbers for L1 and L2, but when I go the TABLE there is no L1 or L2 column, only X, and there are numbers entered in the X column that I want to delete. How do I clear the X values,...

The table is where the calculator displays values from functions entered in the Y= page. To enter numbers into lists, press STAT and select Edit to get into the list editor.

Invalid dimension

Most of the time when you get the "invalid dimenstion" error, either list 1 or list 2 is longer than the other. Check your data and make sure you there are not more numbers in one list than in the other.

Another posssibility is that when you tried to clear list one, you may have deleted list one. If this is the case, you can get the column labeled list one back by pressing stat, then select set up editor form that menu which will take you back to the home screen. Press enter and the word done will appear. Now when you go back to stat edit, list one will be there.
