Question about Sanyo PLC-XP57L LCD Projector

1 Answer

We have a Sanyo XP57 projector. Occasionally (not every time), the unit boots up and the lamp comes on for a few seconds before turning off and all the lights on top of the unit flash. Turning on and off doesn't solve the problem but if you unscrew and remove the top cover and then replace it, the projectors fine! Works for a while (few jobs) and then does it again?!!

It's possible that your lamp could be coming to the end of it's life. Do you have a replacement lamp to try. One more thing to check, how is the air circulation around the projector? Is the filter dirty? These are things to check.

Good Luck

SOURCE: Can't get the lamp light to turn off on my sanyo

Go into the menu and look for the settings icon. Under the setting icon you should see a lamp counter reset button. Select that and the lamp replacement light will go out.

Additional information is required for us to assist. Can you better describe what you mean by "poor image"? Are the colors separated? Is the picture out of focus? Are the colors wrong?

Please describe the picture or post a picture of the screen if you can.

Thanks,

Starts to power on,then shuts down

Have you checked the filters? I have a Sanyo PLV-75 and had a similar problem.  The normal fan would come on when the unit was first started, then after a few seconds the secondary fan came on and then the unit would shut down.  Called tech support and they asked if I had cleaned the filters. I did it, and it worked great.  Check the manual for where the filters are and hit them first before getting a new bulb.  Hope it helps!

Sanyo PLV 70 - Power Won't Turn On

it could that the plastic stem on the inside of the lamp cover on the underside of the projector may have snapped off. if it has you'll have to wedge something onto the cross shaped hole, to keep button inside the hole pressed in, in order for the projector to turn on
