The alarm doesn't flash green. It flashes orange. Also since we have the fax problem, the printer won't do straight printing. The copy light stays steady, but the Fax light flashes on and off. Does this help?

Your Fax memory if full, thus need to free up some space. Here is what you do:

1 Press FAX >> MENU.
2 Press the left or right arrow until you find MEMORY REFERENCE. Press Ok.
3.Press left and right arrow again to find DELETE DOCUMENT. Press ok.
4.Press left and right arrow to select [1 DOCUMENT] which deletes a single document stored in memory. (take note that if you choose [ALL PRINTED DOCS] it will delete ALL the printed documents stored in memory).

5. Press OK.
6. Use left and right buttons again to select the transaction number (TX/RX NO.) of the document you want to delete. If you are not sure of the transaction number to delete, print the DOC. MEMORY LIST.

7. Press OK.

8. To delete another document, repeat steps.
9. Press Stop or Reset to exit.

If you need further assistance please dont hesitate to ask.

Hello !

You didn't indicate if you are just experiencing a problem with Faxing, not with printing.

Typically, an alarm LED flashes and lights up green to signal paper jams or improperly installed ink cartridges. But, that would happen if the problem is more than printing, of course.

So, please let me know if your problem is just in Faxing. If not just Faxing, removing a jam or reinserting the cartridges could resolve your problem.

Sounds like the Waste Ink is full. A waste ink absorber is a pad that soaks up waste ink. An absorber can only hold a
certain amount of ink. Ttoo much ink leads to spillage.

    Give this a try:

This reset should be used once waste ink counter reaches full and lock-out
    occurs.

    - To select something... Use the '-' and '+' buttons and then the
    "OK" button.
    - To go back... Use the "Stop/Reset" button

    1. Service menu: Menu -> Scan -> Copy -> Scan (one at a time in
      sequence)

    2. Select "TEST MODE"

    3. Select "[8] ETC.."

    4. Select "[4] EEPROM CLEAR"

    5. Select "[1] INK COUNT"

    6. Press the [OK] button.

    7. Press the [Stop/Reset] button (Exits Service Mode)

    8. press the [ON/OFF] button (which resets the printer)

CANON PIXMA MP 780 WILL NOT PRINT FAX. ALL INK CART. HAVE BEEN CHANGED. HELP!

Do you have a dedicated telephone line or is it a shared line with answering machine or telephone? Were you able to receive and print faxes at one time or have you never been able to print a fax? Are there any error messages or error lights?

If you are not getting error codes it sounds like a basic set-up and configuration problem. Make sure the telephone line is connected properly

See here. Also suggest referring to pages 35 and 43 of the Quick Start Guide

You may also want to check to see if you have the most current driver for your operating system. drivers and software are available here.

Without much more detail simply can't provide more specific assistance.
