Question about Dryers

LG TROMM Front Load Dryer / Not drying clothes

I have an LG Tromm front load dryer that is approximately 18 months old. It takes almost 3 hours to dry a load of clothes. The dryer is hooked-up properly to the heat source and the heat source is turned on. When the dryer is turned on in the dryer cycle, the dryer burner does turn on, but the clothes do not dry. What could the issue be?

Check the vent or condensor depending on what type of dryer.

Check the element, it is possible there is no voltage from the control panel or there is fault in the connection or a burned element.

My LG Tromm DLE5955W dryer has great airflow and heating but about 2 months after I bought it, it now takes 2 hours to dry a load of clothes. I have vaccumed it out and replaced the vent house already with...

You have a problem with the exhaust vent in the house walls. Try this. Disconnect the dryer vent hose from the back of the dryer and see how well it dries a load of laundry. If it comes out alright, then you know that the vent in the house is clogged and will need to be professionally cleaned out. Good luck

LG says to unplug unit. Or remove power by tripping circuit breaker. Wait a minute and plug back in. Good luck.

Dryer not drying sufficiently

Clean out the vent air lines. If partially blocked or bent/kinked will cause this.

LG Tromm dryer now takes two cycles to dry a load

The problem with the LG tromm dryers are seemingly two fold.
1. The dryer stops heating and drying the cloths. I found out AFTER HAVING IT SERVICED TWICE AND WAITING A MONTH FOR A NON ESSENTIAL PART. The problem turned out to be the dryer vent going from the wall to the outside was severly clogged. Once this was corrected the dryer worked great.

2. The second issue probably is a design issue in that a large amount of lint seems to get by the lint filter and ends up in the vent that the dryer is connected to and goes out side the house. In my case I have a long dryer vent imbeded into the wall to the exterior, in a shorter vent this probably wouldn't be an issue.
