Hotpoint fdf780 flooding at rest

Ya you're right the problem is in the water inlet valve, but try to consider also that this machine is equipped with a digital controller or a so called IC. Better to consult a technician nearest you.

Have a Hotpoint Aquarius FDF780 dish washer. I have checked everything that I can but still there is no water being passed through the two revolving arms

Check that the jets at the ends of the wash arms are not clogged with food particles. This is a constant problem. If they are clean and the machine pumps out water, the other problem could be the selector valve which changes over water flow direction

Dishes not cleaning

Are the dishes wet? If they are then maybe the dishwasher was over loaded and the spray jets were not able to wash the dishes. Check the jets to make sure they are not obstructed. If nothing else then the pump is not circulating the water to wash the dishes. Good Luck

It is not cleaning the dishes leaving grit and hard stains that I cant get off een hand washing (use same soap Ive used in old dishwasher) seems to not have alot of water flow either

The spray arms could possible be clogged or blocked with debris that wasn't chopped and removed by the filtration system. You can easily remove the spray arms (upper and lower if your model has both) and flush them under the faucet. I have sometimes had to use tweezers to remove bits of paper, plastic or even bone from the jets. This would improve the water flow and give the jets the strength to really "squirt" your dishes!

Door wont close on fdf780 dishwasher

Check the shelf height. If your machine has an adjustable shelf (like mine), then if it slips out of position on one side, the door will not shut.

Try lifting up the shelf.

I have a hotpoint fdf780 dishwasher thats started to leak from the bottom quite near the inlet pipe and puts A-1 in the display. Any ideas? Thanks Peter

Yes. Error A-1 is the Water inlet hose alarm. (I have the manual for a fdf780 in front of me). Guess you have already tried tightenning the inlet hose connection?

I replaced the spray arm seal, but the arm still wont spin. I get water but not enough pressure to turn the top arm. The bottom arm works fine. Should the top arm turn easily when pushed by hand. It...

arms should turn freely. spray arms are only rotated by water spraying out from angled jets at end. check for blockage in spray arms - sweet corn and rice are the worst offenders. take spray arms off and run water in centre hole and see it runs out of all the jets freely
