Red the picture on the projection screen is all red and I run the perfect picture and its still red

Ok when you say all red there is not other colors at all?

otherwise i would recommend this if you see other colors.

What you described sounds like a convergence problem. When convergence has failed the colors will commonly look 3D,warped, etc. This tips page here on Fixya has more details.

Sony KP 48s35 Has great sound but no picture.

My set has a RED background on all Inputs--DVD,Sat, Recorded DVR.....when playing a DVD a Bright Blue FBI screen is normal and the Bright Green Movie Rating Screen is Normal but the picture is RED....

I found a way to get into the service Display, 5 ,volume + and numbers come up---could figure out how to go to a Menu-----but somehow the picture is now perfect !

Anybody know why this fixed I said the RED background was on all input screens....the screen with no signal was a solid red instead of Black......

Picture turned red then tv turns off

The red picture tube is bad, you must replace before it cause damage to the boards.

Projection lights don't line up

Projection TV sets have several common problems listed below.

Problem #1) Convergence


  • Screen Looks 3-D
  • Colors wont align
  • Screen may look distorted
  • No Audio/Video - makes a chirping sound.

you need to have both convergence ics replaced STK392-040 (2).resistors 3.9 ohms they will be open.

when you replace the convergence amp board. u usally have to go into setup. or service mode and manualy converge the set. these settings are what perfect focus basis it reconvegence on. sort of the factory settings. these faint lines may also be a red crt overdriving too
