Question about Belkin (F5D8231-4) Wireless Router (F5D82314)
I am using a Belkin Router to use my laptop remotely, but am kicked off the at&t connection after 2-4 days of great use. (desktop and laptop). At&t say it is the router's problem. Want to solve this and a new router may be it. What info do I need to know to get the right router? Thank you
It's probably temporary interference between the router and your computer.
1. Regrigerator, metal filecabinet, too many walls in between, etc.
2. Also, the router is using the same frequency (2.4GHz) as:
Microwave oven, cordless phone (not cell phone), Bluetooth headset
3. Move the router if you can to a higher location, and change the direction of the antennas (point the antennas in-line with the direction of the laptop).
4. If you obtain a different router, get one that uses "N" wireless, even tho your laptop uses "G", the "N" router can get around interference.
You do not have to change your "G" laptop to "N".
