First check the printer is actually ON - (lights etc) Then see if the printer works from other applications (Excel etc) If not, unplug the printer and plug it back in again. Check your ink tanks (though you should get a message if that is the problem).

If you can print from a different app, it is not the printer that is the problem. Check the printer settings within Word. Still nothing? Go to the control panel, select printers and check that the correct printer is selected. If so, you may have corrupted the driver - get onto driver.com (or any other) put in the model details, download./install the new driver.

SOURCE: Color chart in Word 2007 prints as a black box

One of our staff members had a chart that they have embedded in a Word 03 document. The text on the Y axis is in reverse order, but when the chart is double-clicked, the text it is correct. When printed to Acrobat, the chart is black.

I saved as Office 2007, with no better success, but the text (compatibility mode) did not disappear from the heading of the document even though I saved as a docx.

I saved once more, this time making sure the Maintain Compatibility checkbox under the file type was not checked. The chart corrected itself on-screen and it printed correctly.

My printer will not print. When you check the status of the document it says printing. When you cancel that it doesn't cancel. DAYS later the document prints all by itself. What's that about?

It's because the print queue is saved on the printer's flash memory. This happens when you don't cancel the queues properly or terminated improperly. To get rid of the issue, always try to give the command slowly and don't over load. If you are printing photos, try to make the file size small so that it'll not take long to spool and prepare for printing.

When the problem occurs, so as follows:

Cancel the queues from the print status box ("Cancel all documents"), if they are not cancelled, then turn off the printer (directly unplug the power cord from the printer), it you still see the printing status, keep on cancelling until everything's gone.

If the problem persists, restart your computer. Definitely the problem will be fixed.

It's also important to press the cancel button while the printer powers On.

Good luck.

Using Windows Vista, documents remain in the print queue after printing necessitating that the computer be restareted between every print job. Is there a fix?

Hi jonty143, you can try these steps.

1.Check if the firewall is blocking any printer services

2.Check what port the printer is using (reenable the bi-directional support) and if it's on online mode

3.Disable all the firewalls

4.Uninstall the printer driver and software

5.Delete any items under the ff keys:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-2

6.Delete any non default items under the ff keys:
Note: ONLY THE NON DEFAULT ITEMS SHOULD BE DELETED

The spool folder located at c:\windows\system32\spool opens.

I can't "delete" a document from the que

Have you tried to stop the spooler service in services?
Option 1)
Click on start orb
Type in search window:
services.msc
click ok
Scroll down to Print spooler service and click on it in the right side
window.
On the left side click stop the service and wait forthe process to
stop
Do not close the window yet. You will have to restart it here later.
next delete the print job in the printer queue
then restart the spooler service
Resubmit your new print job.

Option 2)
If that doesn't clear it, the next step would be to stop the spooler
service as stated above
Go into windows explorer
(Print job data is collected and stored in a spool file in the spooler
folder.)

It is located in:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Your print job will show 2 files there Example below:
00002.SHD
00002.SPL

Delete the files located in there. There may be several of them
depending apon how many print jobs you submitted. You will have to
resubmit your print jobs all over again.
Next go back to services window and restart the spooler service

That will definitely fix it.

When printing documents from my PC documents always sent to queue

Go to control panel, printers. Set your defaults there. You probably have spooling enabled. Uncheck it and your print job will go to the printer, rather than to spooling. Spooling is like rolling the print job up on a spool until the whole thing is processed, then unwinding it to the printer.
