DVD stuck, computer won't turn back on

I've been having trouble with the DVD player. When I push the shelf in, it doesn't always lock and sometimes it doesn't slide in just right. Last night, I put in a DVD and slid the shelf shut, then the laptop shut off. I cannot get it to turn on even to get the DVD out. My laptop is a Gateway.

If you look at the door of the CD/DVD tray/shelf, you should see a little hole. Stick a paper clip into the hole and it will pop out the CD/DVD tray/shelf and you can get your DVD back. I would call Gateway support to fix the rest of it. If it is still under warranty, they can send out a tech to fix it.

3 cd's are stuck in player and the 5th changer won't open

Unplug it from the wall and give it time to power down. When you plug it back in it will reset itself and the changer will open. Pretty much the way a computer resets itself when you unlug it completely. Also works on my DVD player when it jams up

Crankup and drive get some place and shut it off them sometimes wont restart till it cools. checked relays battery alternater all is good what is wrong ?

If your starter won't turn over after driving and shutting the car off, sometimes, it sounds like your starter is getting stuck/overheating. Replace your starter and this problem should go away.

Some of their very old sets the video input was located on channels in the 90's; Try scrolling down from 99 to 90 to see if you locate the video input; this is just the way they did things in the older sets.

I have just purchased an HP Desktop computer and when I burn a Cd for music, everyting seems to work ok but when I try to play that CD on another player in my home, it won't play. Is there a setting...

Check the type of the blank CD/DVD you are using. Certain players won't be able to play CD-RW for instance.

If that doesn't solve the problem you might try to slow down your burn speed for a better quality CD/DVD. Sometimes a faster burn speed will lower the quality and other devices can have trouble reading these.

How do I get my RCA dvd player door to open?

I've had some luck with unplugging the DVD player, plugging it back in, and then pushing stop on the DVD player and then open. See if that works. Sometimes it just locks up like a computer.

Will not play dvd, trouble code h07, Is this an expensive fix or something I could do myself.

out of all the test equipment in my work shop i always laugh at the repair that can only be handled by the hand. the fault is a stuck tracer arm all you need to do is when loading a dvd slap the side of the player this will free up the arm.

please let me know how you went

DVD says loading.... but keeps turning, stops, turns, stops

It is a problem with the laser. Getting a lens cleaner could help, but it is doubtful. Your best bet, tap the unit while the disk is trying to load.

There is a motor that moves the laser into place. Often the motor burns out or it does not focus correctly after a while. Sometimes, they just get stuck. A tap may kick start the motor into place if it is stuck. Most likely, you will have to replace the unit.

P.S. Toothpaste and electronics don't mix. CD players get extremely hot. You will eventually be cleaning Crest out of your DVD player.
