    Bob are you sure?
Because sometimes songs disappear and I think I'm hurting the mp3 player...though I've read the manual and there is nothing about safely removing the portable device, so I'm really confused.

If this is a USB device, you may remove it at any time.

My zen doesnt want to connect

I think I found my answer. With my player connected I went to Control Panel- System- Hardware- Device Manager and under Portable Devices removed my Zen Player. I then went back to Control Panel- Add Hardware- and let the Add Hardware Wizard add my player back.
My Zen Micro Photo now connects to computer and I can charge the battery with no problem.

The Safely Remove Hardware dialog box does not appear

not really, you may be able to select the option, if you right click on the drive in my computer, but they don't always disconnect the hardware anyway, so just remove it as lons as you know there is no activty

Unable to Safely Remove YP-K3J

the people that say to ignore the safely remove device - are mistaken.

all i can suggest is go to the manufacture of the computer and make sure all your device drivers are up to date.

and depending on your OS - windows update site or the linux / mac / other repositories to make sure all those are updated as well.

Phillips Go Gear 6GB

The Phillips website has a solution for this:
Go to the FAQ for this mp3 player. It'll tell you to install the Device Manger which will repair the problem. I've done this, however, the Device Manager claims my mp3 Player is not connected.

Try this yourself, you might have better luck.
