Xbox 360 "Connection Interrupted" (Brand spanking new console)

Hi people!
I recently had to replace my 360 due to a fault (E-74, not the problem here)
Before on my old 360, my internet connection was fine, after having to give the 360 its own virtual server on the firewall list (NAT problems)

After all of that my connection was fine. Now with the new 360, my connection is brilliant for a minute or two whilst playing (Call of duty) then for a random moment it says connection interrupted for about 5 seconds and it returns back to normal, still in the game (although im now dead :D)
It does this intermittently throughout any multi-player game. Has anyone come across this problem, and if so, please send a reply. Thanks for any help in advance!!

I had this problem for a couple of months before looking into it and I stummbled across this site. None of the solutions worked so I tried other things. The one way that worked was restarting the entire network I havent had a problem since. Enjoy.

Are you using a wired connection?
Linksys Router?
do you have your settings on auto/auto or 100/full?

Re: xbox 360 "Connection Interrupted" (Brand spanking new...

Ok, so i just joined xbox live and ever since i started playing i got the "Connection Interrupted" sign. It not only kicked me out of the game, lobby AND it disonnected me from Xbox Live. I then tested the connection and it said it was fine. The Solution to this problem was not going out and buying all new stuff, but if your connected through your laptop all i did was sign into msn to give me a constant internet connection through another program. Ever since ive left my msn signed in i have no longer had this problem....Hope this can help. Add my Gamertag......(jordan604)

E74 is due to an inherent engineering flaw and will continue on new consoles until Microsoft institutes a revision.

E 74, E 79, E 71 is shown on screen and a solution to fix it is by ensuring that your A/V connections on your Xbox 360 is secured. Another possible cause to the error is that there is a power surge or outage on your system.

I have the E 74 error how do i fix it?

Basically, this problem is caused by overheating, which is often an issue with most high-powered electronic devices.
As heat levels rise inside your Xbox 360 the connection between the motherboard and the video scaler (HANA/ANA) chip is damaged due to the expansion and contraction of the metal connectors.
Once you have experienced the red ring of death e74 once on your Xbox 360, it will continue to happen over and over again until you fix the problem permanently.
The process of repairing the Xbox 360 red light e74 involves opening up your console, removing the hard drive and disk drive (as these get in the way when you are navigating around the narrow confines of the case) and then locating the video scaler chip.
You then remove it from its seating point and clean the connections; an eraser works well for this. It then has to be seated correctly back in its slot. Once this is done and the hard drive and disk drive are re-installed you can put the case back together.
When you turn your console on again it should be free of the e74 error.
Good Luck and have a nice day.

Xbox Live Connection Interrupted

Ok, all you have to do when it comes to buying a wireless reciever is to buy the microsoft brand one made for xbox live. (100 dollars) Once you have this;
1. turn of the xbox 360 and plug in the adapter.
2.turn on the 360 and go to the network settings option
3. this should bring up a page offering a view of you ip address and ect., go to the bottom link (3rd), and select it.
4. this should give you the option to select your wireless network, then connect to it and test the xbox live connection.
5. Once you pass the test, continue to hit "b" until you are back at the very main menu and begin playing!
