Whirlpool Imperial gas dryer won't heat up.

There are two thermal cutoffs. If you pop open the top of the dryer and find the heating element the bigger one is mounted directly on top of it and the other one is located below it. Those are the thing to check first. You can test with a multimeter set to test continuity. If those are bad that means that the exhaust vent is getting clogged. Those run about 34 bucks for the set. The other piece to check is the element itself. You can test that the same way. Those run between 50 and 70 bucks. Good luck.

Whirlpool Imperial Electric Dryer wont heat up

Check the following to address this issue.

1. No power to the dryer
Make sure there's power getting to the dryer. Check for tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses. An electric dryer uses two circuit breakers or fuses, and if only one of two is tripped or blown, the dryer might still run but not heat. Sometimes the power cord disconnects or burns at the dryer, if this is the case, the wiring and the terminal block must be repaired or replaced.

2. Heating element
A burned out heating element will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Replace the element if found defective.

3. Thermal fuse
Most dryers have a thermal fuse, which burns out when the dryer overheats, in which case the dryer will either not run at all or stop heating. The fuse is usually located on the vent duct, inside the dryer. A blown fuse will show no continuity when measured with a meter. Before replacing the fuse, make sure the blower wheel is not broken or clogged, and there is nothing blocking the venting.

Whirlpool Imperial seventy dryer does not heat up

If there is a copper line feeding gas to it, PULL THE DRYER WAY FROM THE WALL AND TURN THE GAS OFF AT THE VALVE IMMEDIATELY!

Natural gas and copper do not mix, and the copper line will corrode from the inside out.

Now, on to the problem, it's very likely the timer has failed IF it does not rotate all the way through the drying cycle. If it does, and the clothes do not heat up, then reply back what you are experiencing and I will give you move help.
