Question about Arris Touchstone 450a (CM450) Modem

Medicom phone No dial tone

My phone has not had a dial tone for almost a month medicom has only been her eone time to look at it.They replaced the modem and it still did not work.So the tech hooked the old one back up.He said it was a problem on their end and they would fix and another tech would be back out to make sure it is working.It's been 4 days no tech yet.I called they said it should be working.I rebooted my modem.I unhooked the cables and the power cord and the battery and rehooked.Rebooted still no dial tone.I need help i am only off today until next monday which is christmas eve.

Found the problem after two techs spent hours.It was what we originally tried to tell them it was.When we called to have our number changed they messed something up in accounting and it interfered with the account and all that stuff,lol.Took them that long to figure it out.OMG....

1podinker, you have a phone off the hook or a bad phone line. Plug a phone into the back of the modem and see if it works.

Bamachicky, need more info on what your modem lights are doing.

The dial tone is a flat continuous tone, I can not make any calls.

have the line checked, the dial tone is on the line not on the phone . I some time have a flat continuous dial tone and some time have a repeating one

No Dial Tone from BT Diverse 7110 Single

Check that the volume on the handset is turned up, also replace the batteries or put in non-rechargeable ones to get the phone working at full capacity. If bought from Amazon you should be guaranteed for a year, not a month!

I keep a dial tone, even when I dial a phone number...can't make an outgoing phone...I keep getting the dial tone. can you please help?

1) make sure is the phone is working good
2) there are tone dial
3) see the steps before o.k see ,if there are another phone having the same problem. The problem is service provider.
4) eliminate any background noise., mute the cordless handset before dialing.

Line issue - contact your service provider for relief.

If they disconnect you, Its their inconvenience. Try contacting them. They only can help it.

System Time/Date can be set via admin programming or using feature code 692.

To set using the feature code:

1. Dial [692] on the dial pad. A confirmation tone will sound.

2. Enter date and time as follows: YYMMDDHHMM

When the correct number of digits are entered, a confirmation tone will sound.

3. Press the ON/OFF button (SPEAKER button on IP Phone) to OFF to update the display.

YY = Year (00-99) HH = Hour (00-23)

MM = Month (01-12) MM = Minute (00-59)

DD = Day (01-31)

Dial Tone Appears and Disappears

Any store offering phones will have replacement cables for low prices; replace this first. Your wall jack could also be damaged although the ones used by installers is generally very long-lived.
