Question about HP MX703 17 17 in.CRT Conventional Monitor
I have an HP mx703 monitor that does not power on. When plugged in it makes a regular "tick" sort of sound. A fuse popping, maybe? The power button does nothing.
After getting the case off the only odd thing I see, apart from copious amounts of dust, is a single loose wire that looks like it "should" be plugged in to something on the CRT box, but doesn't look like it broke or slipped off of anything.
It seems that the transformer of the monitor has gone bad, as it makes a click sound. The cable could be the one which gets connect to the picture tube, or just for earthing.
