Question about RCA D52W23 52" HDTV CRT TV

1 Answer

My tv works fine. However, when I watch any HD channel, there is absolutely no difference in the pic quality when I watch the same channel in non HD. I have Dish network cable with a HD box. Is this the tv or could it be my HD box?

Check the program playing menu see if in HD.
The HD should be slighly sharper images because in higher Pixels count mode.

There is no sound coming through on HD channels, it has been working fine with no problems but woke up yesterday morning and it no longer works. we can watch tv with sound through the normal scart but...

What TV model is it?
You should begin by unpluging the TV from the mains and have the TV unpluged for at least 3 minutes, if that does not work then you need to factory reset the TV, but note that you will loose all of your previous settings on the TV.
I hope this solve your problem.

Pixilization on non hd channels with hdmi cable connected to HDPVR receive. HD channels come in crystal clear, non hd channels are all bitmapped and horrible

Your TV is not at fault, it is showing you the difference between HD and non HD channels. HD TV's work great with HD scorces but don't usually look that great with standard definition, Also the non-HD channels are more likely to be heavily compressed which makes them look bad too.

Directv Samsung problem

I also have directv. At this point,it is a video signal issue on their end.The up conversion is ok at best.Depending on the original video that is probably as good as it gets. The other problem is the wow factor from hd.It is hard not to be critical of the non-hd channels.

Non-HDMI Tivo connection

The solution I use is S-Video from cable box to TIVO, and from TIVO to TV. That gets you the highest quality signal that the TIVO can handle. To watch true HD signal, switch TV from S-Video input to Hi-Def input and tune to HD channel. I have an HD cable box connected to both outputs, your situation may be different.

Feel free to ask for more help.
