First check your power adaptor if it has one. Often the connectors come loose.

Make sure the adaptor, if you have one, is the original correct one for the unit.

What one? Keyboard or Piano?

That would depend on what you want to use it for. Assuming you mean a real piano, it's not portable, it can't be used with headphones for silent practice, and it will need periodic tuning and general maintenence. However, no electronic device is actually going to sound like a real piano, and no action feels the same as a real piano. Keyboards, on the other hand, can be played in different locations, have a larger variety of sounds, and are cheaper to maintain. As a pro musician, I own both. Actually a number of different keyboards, but only one piano

My CVP-7 sounds a little off in some of the settings. Would replacing the motherboard help?

Possibly.
Depends what you mean by "off".
I know of an electric piano that sat in front of a window that leaked when it rained. Now the piano sounds like the vibrato is running at about 40 cps. It probably needs a new circuit board. But the owner doesn't notice it and he has no audience. "It sounds fine.", he tells me.
On the other hand, you may just have a lose part that physically vibrates inside somewhere when you play notes that resonate with it. It's hard to say without hearing it.

Have a professional tune it for you. It may be that some strings have loosened/tightened.

It sounds like you have a part overheating and failing, then cooling off and starting again. i would take it into the nearest Yamaha repair facility or contact your local authorized repair to come take a look before it goes out of warranty.

Need repairs on Technics SX-PX103-M Model.

Have you had any luck with your Technics piano? I've got the same piano and Mine does not work either. No lights on the control panel, only red power light comes on. Does yours have any led lights besides the power light that come on? I've investigated and I have learned a lot from this piano. 4 main boards. Im pretty sure I've got it down to one board. Interested in selling me any boards from your Piano??

I'm using the Yamaha P-85 Digital piano. Unfortunately it has lately had some problems. When I'm playing to notes next to each other (especially e and f (mi & fa) or b flat and b (si & si...

In playing fast you have to make sure to release the note fully and let the key come up. These keys have TWO contacts that are used in the scheme to measure note velocity. If BOTH contacts don't open, the note will NOT re-fire. The second symptom you have written would be a characteristic if one of the disconnect diodes has shorted. These diodes direct the strobe signals that scan the matrix of key contacts to avoid other octaves responding when multiple keys are depressed including those in other octaves. Servicing of the unit is required. It is unlikely you have the tools to DIY this problem. ONE THING to try is to tip the unit and gently tap it to see if some debris MIGHT have fallen in that may be shorting some of the matrix connections.

Check if it might be dragging on the edge of the case. The restoring force for some of these comes from a silicone rubber dome that is oart of the contact. SOMETIMES the dome fails.

Yamaha P-200 elec piano - when I press the keys, they kind of make clicking sounds like they need to be oiled...what should i do?

I have a Yamaha P200.

One thing I noticed is that it is the hardest electronic keyboard I have ever played. The action is pretty close to a real piano but it is the hardest action I have experienced.

Could you just be a bit out of practice or not recalling accurately what is was like to play it?

Or of course it could be gummed up with crud if it wasn't covered or in it's case while you weren't using it.

There is definitely a sound when the key come up after being played - you could call it a thump or a click I guess. Again it could be a crud issue as well.

Having it cleaned could be helpful.
