Question about Shuttle XPC SB95P V2 (SB95PV2) Barebone

No display at all

I have tried 2 differend pci-e graphics cards and even connected the floppy drive power cable the the motherboard to boost the power to the graphics card but still cant get a picture of any kind on the screen.

The cables are all in the right places and i have even swaped the cpu with my other pc to check that.

Am i missing something or is the board ready for the scrap heep?

If this is a new build it sounds like you need more watts from the PS. You didn't say what your spec were...specifically the PS and graphics cards nor did you mention what other drives and stuff your running. If there is not enough juice to pull the call on power...you will have a PS that will start itself and then fireup nothing. Need specs to help you further.

Let's read together,

What isn't stated in that paragraph, is one graphics card will be supported at 16x, with the other being supported at 4x.

The Orange PCI-Express x16 slot supports a graphics card at the 16x bandwidth. (Hmmm, looks Red to me)

The Blue PCI-Express x16 slot supports a graphics card at the 4x bandwidth.

Was just bringing up the point, that the mobo will support OnBoard, or Integrated graphics, AND also one of those PCI-Express x16 slots.

"Surround Display"

Means BIOS will allocate an Interrupt Request for the OnBoard (Integrated) graphics, and also allocate an IRQ for the PCI-Express x16 graphics card, for using BOTH at the SAME TIME.

Never have seen this before. Must lead a sheltered life! Lol!
No big deal, however. Two graphics cards are much better.

IF, your Power Supply does NOT have two 6-pin PCI Express power cables, AND you use an adapter power cable, that uses two 4-pin Peripheral power cables, MAKE SURE you use TWO -> 4-pin Peripheral power cables! <-

If not you will burn up the power cable's connector.
You will burn up the power cable connector on the graphics card.
You will burn the PCI Express x16 slot the graphics card is sitting in.

May not happen right away, but I Assure you it Will happen!

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions even something as small as an electrical fan and its lead can cause this problem or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electrical power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket

My monitor is not receiving any signals from either on board graphics or graphics card?


you should not be getting a screen

Hi,

I think you have not connected power connector to your Radeon HD5570 .
This graphics card have 6pin power connector .
You need a 6pin power connector cable that comes with the graphics card box.

1.First connect your 6pin power connector to Graphics card.
2. Then connect other part of the cable to PSU.

Signal to monitor lasts for about 20 seconds then stops (initial installation of pci-e card). Neither new graphics port or onboard port works after 20 seconds

A Computer Motherboard Diagram motherboard-diagram-01.jpg Once you know what you are looking at, you can recognize the components on any motherboard layout. A computer motherboard diagram is very useful for when you need to replace motherboard, do motherboard upgrades, troubleshoot motherboard, or build your own computer.
  1. PCI Slot - This board has 2 PCI slots. These can be used for components such as Ethernet cards, sound cards, and modems.
  2. PCI-E 16x Slot - There are 2 of them on this motherboard diagram, both are blue. These are used for your graphics card. With two of them onboard, you can run 2 graphics cards in SLI. You would only need this if you are a gamer, or working with high end video / graphics editing. These are the 16x speed versions, which are currently the fastest.
  3. PCI-E 1x Slot - Single slot - In the PCIe 1.x generation, each lane (1x) carries 250 MB/s compared to 133 MB/s for the PCI slots. These can be used for expansion cards such as Sound Cards, or Ethernet Cards.
  4. Northbridge - This is the Northbridge for this motherboard. This allows communication between the CPU and the system memory and PCI-E slots.
  5. ATX 12V 2X and 4 Pin Power Connection Power Connection - This is one of two power connections that supply power to the motherboard. This connection will come from your Power Supply.
  6. CPU-Fan Connection - This is where your CPU fan will connect. Using this connection over one from your power supply will allow the motherboard to control the speed of your fan, based on the CPU temperature.
  7. Socket - This is where your CPU will plug in. The orange bracket that is surrounding it is used for high end heat sinks. It helps to support the weight of the heat sink.
  8. Memory Slots - These are the slots for your RAM. Most boards will have 4 slots, but some will only have 2. The color coding you see on the motherboard diagram is used to match up RAM for Dual-Channel. Using them this way will give your memory a speed boost.
  9. ATX Power Connector - This is the second of two power connections. This is the main power connection for the motherboard, and comes from the Power Supply.
  10. IDE Connection - The IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) is the connection for your hard drive or CD / DVD drive. Most drives today come with SATA connections, so you may not use this.
  11. Southbridge - This is the controller for components such as the PCI slots, onboard audio, and USB connections.
  12. SATA Connections - These are 4 of the 6 SATA connections on the motherboard. These will be used for hard drives, and CD / DVD drives.
  13. Front Panel Connections - this is where you will hook in the connections from your case. These are mostly the different lights on your case, such as power on, hard drive activity etc.
  14. FDD Connection - The FDD is the Floppy Disk controller. If you have a floppy disk drive in your computer, this is where you will hook it up.
  15. External USB Connections - This is where you will plug in external USB connections for your case or USB bracket.
  16. CMOS battery - This is the motherboard's battery. This is used to allow the CMOS to keep its settings.

I am having a problem of no display


Hi mystriaxe_me, the issue of no display depends greatly on which display you are currently using. The Intel MB D102GGC2 does use an onboard (Integrated) graphics card & it also allows you to use a PCI-Express graphics card but not at the same time.
If you are not using a PCI-Express x16 card your monitor cable should be connected to the "Dark Blue in color VGA port" located at the rear of the MB. If you are using a PCI-Express card, the bios auto detects that one is attached & will boot to the PCI-E. Most PCI-E cards have two ports. If the first one does not show display than move your cable to the second port on the PCI-E card. (Also try removing your PCI-E card & re-inserting it. The connection may not be fully inserted. Most PCI-E cards also require more power. Check your card for additional power ports. Some use a power cord like a floppy disk drive, others use a power cord like a hard disk drive & newer cards use either a 6-pin power cord or 4-pin squar power connector. Check the manual for the PCI-E card.
If in either case if you do not receive display on your monitor, check the monitor cable for good connection. Also check the monitor by hooking it up to a working notebook or a working PC.
If nothing helps you gain display, post here which graphics card you are using. If its a PCI-E card post the manufacture & model number.
