Question about Quartet gbc 550S 71" 1:1 Projector Screen

1 Answer

My quartet projection screen will not go back up.

I opened it up and found that the metal spring inside is broken. It splipped out of place and got twisted so hard that it actually snapped. I could replace it but I don't know where to find a new spring.

The spring that holds up the saw came out of place along with a metal rod and a metal cap of some sort and I CANT FIGURE UP HOW TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER..

I found this diagram online, as I only have access to the full Makita (UK) tech data at work. The spring, pin and dish look like they sit on the rear part of the table/base and go up inside the back part of the guard housing. I can't really tell from this diagram how it is all fixed in place, but you should be able to see how and where it goes together, and hopefully be able to suss it out from there.

Fix printer that stopped working and all the lights came on

Re my problem with my epson printer: I found the problem, one of the spring loaded plastic things, located below the round rod that the print head assembly travels on has a broken latch. This allowed the plastic thing to move forward and block the print head assembly. I was able to push the plastic piece and it's spring back into place, then I wedged a toothpick inside the coil portion of the spring and the metal tab that supports it. It has ben working for over two weeks now. Jim R.

Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 1998 hood latch spring replacement

Ford Expedition 1998 hood latch spring replacement. If your hood won't latch on the secondary latch, but does on the first, and when you pull the hood handle from the drivers dash, from here you should feel a pull when opening the hood. It should feel like you are opening the hood. However, the secondary latch is not latching. You may have a spring broken in the latch lock.

I had this problem. Mind you, I am 115lb, 40 year old lady. I was told to leave it alone, bring it to someone who knows what they are doing or I would have to tie it up with was up for the challenge.

Open the hood, disconnect the battery, find your latch. It is in the middle of the truck, by the grill in the front -under the hood. You may have to remove the plastic covering that shields the radiator. There should be 6 plastic screw caps found right where you can see them, and 2 plastic pop off caps closer to the engine. I had to step on the bumper to see them. Next, with a marker, mark the location of the lock. I put a line across the top onto the truck, and on the sides of the lock. This is so when I put it back I don't have to do any adjustments. Don't forget to mark the placement of the screws on the lock. With an 8mm socket, place the socket on the two bolts holding the lock in place. I didn't need to take anything apart to get to the lock, just a little pull on the plastic you should see in front of the lock. However, I would suggest you taking the sensor cable off of the latch. I didn't need to remove mine. I was very careful in handling the cable and the lock. Please remember to keep the screws and bolts (if any) to the side, you will need to put them back on. Once you have the lock out of it's place, carefully bring it out about 4-6 inches (it should almost lie on the metal for you to see inside). Here you should see if you have a broken spring. The lock should only have two. One spring is about 2.5 inches, and the lower one is about 1.5 inches. My problem what the 1.5 inch spring. I took out the broken spring, and using a flat head screw driver, I latch the spring on. I then had my daughter pull the hood handle, shabang! It worked. I reversed my steps in putting the latch, bolts, screws, and battery back together. I didn't need to adjust any of it since I marked the placements. It has been working great ever since.

My hyndaui Veracruz started making a scrapping, grinding metal on metal sound from the back,,,any ideas???

Lots! Could be a loose piece of metal scraping on a wheel rim. It could be a cracked or broken brake drum. It could be a broken brake shoe inside the brake drum. It could be a broken brake spring inside the brake drum. It could be a bad wheel bearing inside a rear wheel. Enough?

How do I install a new Handle/Latch assembly on the door of a Whirlpool LHW0050PQ 4 Wash Machine...have to remove present one as broken---pull handle door catch does not release---have to release putting a...

I had to replace part No 8182408 - the washing machine door handle. There is a plastic bar in the middle of the assembly that broke because the door was opened too hard.

There are two springs, the latch, and the plastic piece that brings it all together. The smaller spring is the key, call it the L spring. It is shaped like an L and goes around the ends of the latch. The other spring is the larger and straight and goes around the tops of the plastic piece. The straight spring goes in with the crossbar facing on the outside of the washer. The latch with the L spring fits in between the plastic crossbar with the U shaped end pressing against the latches inside bar. The antenna of the L spring needs to wrap around the plastic bar and fit inside the straight spring bar. This applies pressure on the latch to stay closed. When the handle is pulled, it releases the pressure and allows you to open the door. The Metal bar is used to hold all the pieces together and once you have the alignment right, put it back into the door with the straight spring antenna tucked in the spots on the door, as well as the metal bar ends. Screw in the two spots that holds the assembly in place and you will be set. The door should open and shut easily.

Flash repair

My Olympus SP-570uz also has a broken flash spring. I found that small a coil spring approximately 3/16" max diameter and approximately 7/8" to 1" long can be inserted in the flash cavity when it is open - place on the right side (looking at the front of the camera) in the area that does not interfere with the small latch that locks the flash in the down position. The coil spring will need to compress enough to allow the flash to close completely.

Powerbase model no 830806 9'' angle grinder the switch has broken -hardly used can I get a spare switch or is it worth repairing

The switch can be repaired if you have the patience. There are four springs inside and some contacts, which should be cleaned. The small springs are place under the contacts and the large springs fit on the end of the metal blade that is attached to the switch button, and the other end of each spring fits on a plastic spigot on the inside of the smaller switch housing. The switch is best assembled on the trigger and the outer housing placed over it once everything is in place.
Like I said earlier, patience is the key!

When you open the body pack transmitter on the front the door is spring loaded with a black spring on the inside with a metal plate keeping the spring in place. Sometimes the metal plate comes off and I...

If it will allow the door to operate properly ,the amount of epoxy you will need is equivalent to about 1/2 the size of your little fingernail.Don't get any on the battery side or it will act as an insulator. Squeeze it into place a wipe any excess off. You may be able to hold it in place with a clothespin while it dries or by closing it with batteries in the holder. Just make sure you don't glue the door shut by accident.

My quartet projection screen will not go back up. I think someone pulled it down too far.

The problem is most likely a damaged spring end cap. As you face the screen from the front, this is the cap that covers the right end of the cylinder that encloses the screen material. The cap is held in place by 3 Phillips head screws. If you remove the spring end cap, you will see a slot in it that is designed to hold the spring assembly stationary as you pull down on the screen. If this slot is damaged, then the internal spring inside the roller will lose tension. The fix is to pull out the screen & roller assembly, roll it back up manually, then replace the spring end cap with a new one. (I believe the part # from Quartet Apollo is K0329). The cap at the other end has a cup receiver designed to accept the pin end that is on the left side of the cylinder that houses the screen material. The tricky part is fitting the pin end back into the pin end end cap. It is easier with 2 people. If you fashion a short hook out of a coat hanger. you can use it to lift the pin end into the pin end cap. There are part #'s and exploded diagrams on the Pegasus part sales website: The site is down now for maintenence, but it should be back up soon. HTH
