My home has two zones, both using Honeywell Chronotherm Three thermostats, model T8602A, for an oil fired boiler with forced hot water base board heating. They have worked well for years with my 37 year old boiler. Recently I installed a Buderus system with a Logimatic computer module which has an outdoor temperature sensor. With the thermostats set for "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery", the old boiler would kick on like clockwork @ one hour before we wanted the temp to go from 60 to 65. Now with the new Buderus system with it's outside thermostat and logimatic computer, it seems to be kicking on the boiler two to three hours before I want the heat to go from 60-65. to heat the baseboards. I'm wondering if I have too many computers trying to run the whole system. So my basic question is: can the Chronotherm Adaptive Intelligent Recovery system work correctly with the Logimatic computer on the boiler, as both seem to try to adjust for room/or outside temperatures. Thanks, Part Time Pete
The outdoor thermostat senses the the temp of the outside air, and adjust the boiler water temp according to what it knows is best. The reason that the boiler is running longer is the old boiler used to be constantly sending 180ish degree water to the baseboard, now that water may only be 140ish degrees. The idea behind this is to reduce off cycle heat loss, as the greater the temp difference between the air temp and water temp, the quicker you loss heat. The theory in boiler run time is this, the less times it starts and stops, and the long run times will give you the best efficiency. Hope this answers you questions.

I have a Honeywell Chronotherm III thermostat. Occasionally I will hear it come on, the gas burner/blower kicks on but the blower fan for the house will not start. When this happens, the thermostat displays the current time and -A/C. I tried moving the fan switch to ON instead of AUTO but the fan does not come on. Eventually it comes on but I can smell the "hot" smell in the house because the burner continues to run without the blower fan going.

I have my Honeywell Chrontherm III set on adaptive intelligent recovery. It is set on "Leave" at 58 degrees at 7am and "Return" at 66 degrees at 4pm. The unit starts heating the house at 12noon to move it 8 degrees. According to the directions it should only kick on a max of 24 minutes per degree not 4 hours - any suggestions?
