Be careful with one. Turn power off at the mains first then change the socket. I suspect the wires were loose in the socket and heated up and damaged the switch. If you have a continuity meter try checking between live in and out and neutral in and out on the socket
Press & hold both the 'Cook Time' and 'Stop Time' buttons together and, while holding both of them down, press either the + or - button (this is the way to set the time of day). Release all buttons simultaneously. This should enable the cooking functions to operate.
If this is a fan assisted oven, then there is no bottom element, only the fan element..
Remove the panel at the rear of the oven, there you will see the element, remove any screws that you can see and pull element towards you, disconnect the leads, don't loose them, and replace element.
If no screwws are visible then you will have to remove the oven from housing and do it all from the rear of the oven. Make sure power is off before you do anything.
