Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer

Open Question

When I try to print to my Canon PIXMA MX310 printer, the paper just feeds through without printing. It doesn't even hesitate as it feeds through as if it's trying to print. The printer also seems to get stuck on certain commands. (For instance, when I try to turn it off, it keeps flashing "shutting down" without actually doing so.) I've no idea whether these are related problems.

SOURCE: paper jamming and can't print

Check if there is a piece of paper stuck in the feeder rollers, sometimes the smallest piece makes the bigger mess.

Hope That Helps!

SOURCE: canon mx310 feeds paper w/out printing

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Either you have selected the wrong feeder, it can feed from the back or the front tray, the little green light shows which tray is selected. If you have paper in both, the feed roller may need cleaning since it gives that error if paper doesn't get picked up.

Have you ever tried printing sticky labels in the thing? You have to be careful with those because sometimes a piece will come off and stick in the corner of your printer. If you don't have long surgical tweezers to pull it out, you could be looking at an expensive repair. Also check your manual. There are two places the paper can jam in. You might have checked only one. I have a different Canon model but on mine I also have to make sure the correct light is on. Is the light for feeding from the back on, or the light from feeding on the front? If you have the same light, press it again to change the place where it will feed from.

Make sure your paper isn't curled or that you're using paper that's too thick also.

Can't answer more because I don't know what program you are using to try to print.

Looks feeder is broken. Even having the repair kit probably you don't have the technical knowledge to dismount your printer and change the broken piece so you should take it to an authorized Cannon repair shop

Hello,

My PIXMA 6000 has a paper tray on the bottom or else you can load the paper from above.

When the paper tray contains paper and is loaded it moves a switch that alerts the printer that there is paper available to the printer.

When loading paper from the feeder on the top of the printer there is a bar that kicks out from behind the paper that pushes the paper in to a roller on the other side. The roller grabs the paper and feeds it in to the printer. As the paper enters the printer a sensor detects it's presence.

My Canon MX310 printer is not printing. The paper feeder is not feeding the paper into the printer. It is feeding only on one side. We are unable to print or get faxes. Can you help me out?

It seems like there are some problem with roller inside..

If you have an air gun, try to get ride of dust as much as u can.

Or if you do not have one, ple use vaccuum cleaner...(at min. power) to **** out dust.

And then try for it.

When I try to print it starts a sheet of paper then lets go of it before it prints then says paper jammed when it has failed to load a piece. I have a pixma mx310

Clean the pick-up mechanism and feed wheels with isopropil alcohol and a Q tip. These items are probably slick and not gripping the paper.

Paper feed from rear tray pulls unevenly so paper gets snagged every time.

Make sure you inserting the paper not deep inside just insert and stop it when you feel any resistance .and try to print something. If it is print then well otherwise you have to show it service center.

Won't print

The roller that feeds the paper is probably dirty. you can carefully clean it using platten cleaner, rubber conditioner, or alcohol in a pinch (it will dry the rubber out with prolonged use.)

Dust is the usual cost, but glazing of the surface from a lot of use is also common.
