    Thanks.

This is a top loading machine.

I'm not familiar with taking apart washing machines (or big appliances). I am moderately handy, and don't mind trying/learning.

Is taking it apart the next step? If so, on a scale of one to ten, ten being harder, what would you rate its difficulty? And, any guesses as to whether its an adjustment or definite repair/part-replacement?

I know that's a lot of questions, thanks.

If this is a front load the agitator dogs must be replaced.
On a top load model check also the transmission.
Click here and enter full model number to find diagrams and parts for your appliance.

    Hi,

if it does not agitate, there is not much to test. The machine must be taken apart to access transmission and agitator.

The job depends on the machine model.

If you want detailed instructions you should give me the full model number as printed on service tag.

    Thanks.

Top loader does not spin fast enough to spin dry.

possibly the clutch is slipping, i've heard you can take a #10 washer and put it in one end of your clutch spring caps and that would tighten it up

Kenmore 90 series doesn't spin out all the water

Hi!

If the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:
It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

My kenmore 70 series will not spin water out

Sounds like the tranny is possibly shot. The motor spins backwards to extract, and if the tranny is bound up the belt may spin and burn.
