Samsung TX-R3079WH picture out

Hello - the TV initially started to display a stretched warped picture, like the picture was bending - i could not adjust the DPI or resolution as it remained bent - for example - watching football - the hash marks weren't a staight line they were bent - then I started to smell an electrical burn smell - then the picture went out and the TV does not turn on - Any ideas? My warranty expired two months ago - go figure. The customer service rep indicated it could be my lamp - can i do this myself - i'm concerned it will cost a lot of money if i take it in to the repair shop - Any ideas/suggestions is greatly appreciated - Thank you Fred

How do Print a scanned image

This is a complicated issue. You have to understand the computer term DPI, which stands for Dots Per Inch. This applies in three places:
  1. when you scan, you can set this
  2. when you display it on your monitor, your monitor will be usually 72 DPI or 100DPI depending on what resolution your video driver is set to
  3. when you print, it depends what resolution your printer can print at. Your printer can also stretch the image onto the paper by duplicating dots as needed.

Dots = Pixels
In PixWizard, we show you the image size in Dots.

Let's assume you scan at 300 DPI. You scan an 8x10 picture. This is saved as 2400 dots (8" x 300 dots/inch) by 3000 dots (10" x 300). Let's assume your printer is 600DPI. In dots, this is 4800 (8" x 600) by 6000 (10" x 600). For best results, you should scan at 600DPI and set the print options to use a 1:1 scale when printing. Our programs can also stretch the image to fit the entire printable area of your printer.

I need to reset the screen resolution from 480 dpi to 1080 dpi

The TV does not have resolution setting adjustment, it works the same way as the PC monitor which the resolution is done on the PC, same for TV. If you feed it with 480p signal, it will display 480p, if you feed it with 1080I it will display 1080i. The video source dictates the TV display resolution.
What kind of video sources are you feeding the TV with?

I bought new monitor Compaq S1922a and picture stretched horizontal. I have HP intel with Vista. How to adjust VGA to make picture normal?

if the whole image is too long you can adjust it from tthe image driver will be in the right side on the task bar near the programs that are opened all the time ..and named like the video card you are using and usually will display when hoovering the resolution in the resolutions and choose one that fits best...and confirm ..
To adjust just the the picture from the desktop ..right click on the there choose the desktop image ..or change image ..and you will have 3 possibilities for adjusting the picture to ...stretch..and tile.. see them one by one ...if non of the stile will make it visible in a normal way ..then you should change the picture,,and choose a wallpaper that it is in the same form and big enough to fit....
T change a picture on the wallpaper it is enough to right click on it when its opened ..and choose it to be set as wallpaper from the list of tasks...

Cannot read info withoug straining my eyes (even with glasses).

To make the display better, we can increase the resolution and the font size of the computer.
Here's how we do:
1:Increase the resolution: Click on start and then on control panel .
Apperance and Personalization and then Personalization .click on Display settings and now take the slider to right to adjust the resolution, you may set to high.
2: Increase the font size: On Personalization click on Adjust font size (DPI) and then click on Larger scale (120 DPI) on Apply and OK

My tv shows 480 i all of a sudden and i cannot find where to set it to 1080, i've changed view mode to s stretch, zoom, stretch and the display still shows 480

The TV will show the resolution of the video source is the TV is being fed with, you do not adjust the resolution at the TV. Check your video source. It works the same way as the PC monitor, you set the display resolution at the PC not at the monitor.

The letters on my computer r so small i cant read them, how can i make them bigger

You likely have your resolution too high.  I prefer my resolution high but I can read small writing easily.   To change this right-click your desktop and choose personalize then display settings  adjust to a lower resolution but try to keep the aspect ratio similar to the ratio of the monitor you are using or the image will look squished.  once you have finalized your decision you will have to tweak it using the controls on your monitor to stretch the picture out to the edge of your monitor.    Also you can use the ease of access in the control panel for an on screen magnifier, or simply increase the font size in personalize (left column) adjust font size (DPI) (dots per inch)

300 dpi

Shooting pictures in Fine quality will give you atleast 300 DPI resolution. Check your camera setup menu to see what quality you're shooting in, and adjust as necessary.
If you need to print 300dpi, this is done in whatever program you're using to output. In Photoshop, this is done by going to image>image size and changing Resolution to 300 (or whatever other resolution you want)
