I have two cordless Uniden cordless phones (DECT 6.0) that don't work. Can you fix them and what will it cost me. I'm a retired telephone man. THANK YOU!!! Don Broderick Sandy Utah 801 572 ****

Phones are seldom repairable unless it is just battery replacement. Even Uniden don't fix them, they just sell you a new one or replace under warranty. Phones are cheap to buy, all made in China.

Replacement Program

The replacement program is designed to better serve Uniden customers by making it simple to start their service repair order and to get their issue resolved quickly. This program is used to handle IN WARRANTY customers by replacing your cordless telephone, accessory handset, or two-way radio without requiring you to send the product to a repair facility. When determining a suitable replacement the program takes into consideration the technology and features of the original model that is in need of warranty service. If the same model is available then it will be used to replace your unit, if the same model is not available then a comparable unit will be used to replace your unit. Your order will be processed when we receive a copy of your receipt either via fax or mail.

Uniden Loyalty Program

The loyalty program is an easy and quick option to replace your unit. This program is used to handle OUT of WARRANTY customers. This program offers a "Loyalty" discount on the purchase price of a cordless telephone, accessory handset, or two-way radio purchased directly from Uniden.

How do I register my Uniden handset? It keeps saying it tis searching and then out of range even though I have it on the cradle

Which Uniden phone do you have? Some should register with the handset in the base unit cradle for 30 seconds to a minute. Others need to be within a few feet of the base but not in the base charging.

For the models that need to be registered with a multiple step process, first make sure that the handset is fully charged; this could take 15 hours. (Make sure the battery is properly connected; if it is loose, the registration may fail. If the battery may have been sitting in a warehouse for months, you may want fresh batteries even for a new phone.) Make sure that the base is plugged in (power and telephone line). I like to check the phone line with a basic corded phone for dial tone if there are any issues with a cordless phone. With some Uniden phones, a registration problem can be cleared up by disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it before attempting to register the handset. (Make sure that you do not have more registered handsets than the base can deal with. You may need to deregister all of the handsets and start over. Make sure that the handset is compatible with the base.)

The rest of the process requires you to have the handset close to the base and be relatively quick. (You need to tell the handset to get the registration information from the base and the base to send the information before they time out). For the D1688, at the base, you need to press Menu and go to the Register Accy submenu. Press Select. Then press and hold # on the handset you need to register until you see Registering Handset. Wait for the Registration Complete (or Failed) message.

For the DECT1060, the procedure starts at the handset. Press Menu and navigate to Add. Settings. Press Menu/OK and navigate to Register and press Menu/OK. Select the base number and press Menu/OK. Then press and hold the Find HS button on the base for 3+ seconds until the unit enters registering mode. Now on the handset, you need to enter a PIN that matches the one set for the base. (The default is 0000.)

If you still have problems with registering the handset, then it's likely that the transmitter or the receiver for either the base or the handset may have a problem sending and receiving the codes that synch the base and the handset. Most Uniden phones are not meant to be user serviced for this type of proble. You will need to contact Uniden if the phone is under warranty or decide if you want to replace or repair the phone through Uniden's support.

The manuals for all Uniden DECT 6.0 phones are available as PDFs from Uniden. See http://www.uniden.com/bin/venda?ex=co_disp-view&bsref=uniden&scat=dectphones_mnl for a list of all models or search for your specific model. On the manuals pages, the models are listed in numerical and alphabetical order.

I hope this helps.

No sound from my new Uniden UBC72XLT radio scanner

Your best bet is to send it to Uniden for factory certified repair. They may charge a little more than your local electronics shop, but they will use the correct parts and give you a quality repair with a factory warranty. You can contact them here:

Cannot recieve or send calls. Uniden cordless phone, Out of Range

Hello,
If you are too far from the base, or the battery is low, or there are too many thick walls (concrete or other) the signal the base brodcasts will not be strong enough when it reaches the receiver.
Put the base in a place that has a line of sight view (not may walls in between) of the area where you use the phone.
You can also use an extension cord to have the base close.
Hope it helps.

Igot a used Uniden bc100xlt scanner and no manual and cannot rece

Go to uniden's website for literature or call small electronics shops for repairs...Most wont work on those units as they are too old. I have a uniden BC100XLT from 1988. I had to buy another one off ebay for parts. Also look for info on the BC200XLT as it was an almost identical model. Finally the batteries corrode and certain transistor pop in these early models, check the battery first. open it up and make sure the wires are still connected to battery.

I had a uniden oceanus installed and when I click the talk button it changes the channel on my stereo. Help!

Try moving your antennas further apart. If they are already a couple feet apart, mount the Uniden in another location away from the stereo if possible. You might check with a radio shop about a filter. Your Uniden operates in the 150MHz range and the stereo receives in the 88-107MHz range. Good Luck.

ANTENNA UNIDEN MYSTIC

Good News!!  I just received the email from Jessica at Uniden but when I called to place the order, I learned they are back-ordered( 550 Units) and are not scheduled to arrive until Nov 28, 2008.
So hopefully we will get them.  There is a $10 shipping charge in addition to the antenna.

Larry,
Thank you for your inquire. I apologies for the information you may haven been given. But You are able to order the antenna for this model. They part your needing is part number BATY0461001 Cost is 27.16. This part is on back order. If the jack that the antenna screws on to is also damaged you most likely can buy this part but there are no instructions on how to install it.
To send the unit in due to the jack being the damaged part. You would be asked to box the unit up attaching a note explaining the problems your having along with a check or money order for the flat rate repair fee of 59.95. This amount includes all parts labor and return shipping. The unit will then carry a 90 day warranty.
