You don't. Get service for this. Incorrect installation is dangerous.

Kenmore 1000w Not Heating Food Items

If it sounds like it is running and it lights up it is not the fuse. In my 24 years of service work I've found that the problem you are describing is cause by the failure of the magnitron ( The device that emits the microwave radiation). As your unit is a built in expensive unit I would look into replacing the magnitron. In cheap microwaves I just suggest replacement. If you need further assistance locating a replacement magnitron feel free to cotact me. It is a relatively easy part to replace. You just open the case and unplug it, unscrew it from the unit, and replace it with the new one. In most cases all you need is a philips head screwdriver and some patience. Anyway, I hope this helps you out in your decicion.

The microwave will light up, the buttons work, but no heat to cook food

Your magnitron tube is out (it makes the micro waves) If you are handy you can switch it out for around 100-150, go to to get the new mag tube

Microwave will count down the time but will not heat up

Only one thing heats in micro wave. If every thing works but heat, sounds like you have a bad mag tube. (Magnitron)

My Maytag microwave makes a loud sound and it stopped rotating (I have turned the rotator on several times).

this is due to the magnitron tube is arching and there is possibly grease or dirt around it .You may need to replace the microwave. The drive for this model may be belt driven and the belt is worn and slipping. Repairs for this is usually a lot more than a new microwave.

Advantium 120

This is a dead magnitron tube, You can fix it yourself.First order your part at with your model #. When you get it you will need to pull the unit down and take off the case to switch the mag tube.

Not heating food

If the unit looks like its working just fine but the food is not heated at all your magnitron tube is out, this is the most expensive part of the microwave, it should be cheaper for you to replace rather than repair.

My jvm1540 microwave runs fine but just stopped heating. Only 1 year old. Help.

If your micro looks like it is running and you get no heat than it is your magnitron tube. This is the most expensive part of the micro, if it is in warranty GE will fix it, if not it will be cheaper to replace it.
