Question about Epson GT 7000 Flatbed Scanner
I got mine working on Windows 7 (x64) by doing the following:
1. Download the Windows 7 Epson Scan driver for the Perfection 2400 from the epson site 2. Install the drivers 3. In Start Menu->All Programs->Accessories right-click Notepad and select Run as administrator 4. In Notepad File->Open and browse for the es27.inf file located in C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 5. On line 51, 54, and 57 replace PID_011B with PID_0101 6. Save the file. 7. Connect and turn on the scanner. 8. In Device Manager (Start Menu, right-click Computer, select Properties, Device Manager) right-click the scanner and select Update Driver Software->Browse my computer for driver software 9. Select the location of the modified INF file (C:\Program Files (x86)\epson\escndv\es0027 Include subfolders checked). 10. Say ok to the window that pops up and it should start installing the drivers.
In Photoshop you should then be able to import using WIA-Epson Perfection 2400 (importing with Epson Perfection 2400 causes Photoshop to freeze)
I hope that works for you :)

You may download the GT-7000 WinXP driver and install. The problem on using the XP driver is an error appear every time you access the TWAIN driver and the scan profile cannot be saved.
By modifying the security of the driver folder, the error can be eliminated.
1. Download XP driver from EPSON support site. e.g. http://www.epson.co.uk/Scanners/Epson-GT-7000/Drivers-Support?_DARGS=/jsps/support/modules/mainContent.jsp#
2. Install the driver normally
3. Change the security of the folder of TWAIN driver. e.g. C:Windows wain_32EPFB3. Put 'allow write' for the 'users' group.
4. Create a blank text file 'estwn323.ini' in C:Windows folder and set security of this file to 'allow write' for the 'users' group.
After that, your scanner will work normally. Cheer~

Epson no longer supports the GT-7000.
I doubt that the Windows 7 drivers will be made available.Consider an Epson "WorkForce" scanner or all-in-one. WorkForce is the latest Epson product line.
Epson is the best!

I have a similar problem with the GT-7000 scanner interfaced with the Adaptec AHA 2910 SCSI PCI card in a 64 bit Win 7 pc. I have a program (Vuescan) which would operate the scanner but the scsi interface card cannot handle the 64bit data on the PCI bus and so the pc cannot 'see' the Adaptec card, nor the scanner. Adaptec do not support their card anymore, so my SCSI GT-7000 is scrap. Other manufacturers produce cards that would work but cost more than the scanner is worth.

Installation of Epson GT7000s (sameas Perfection 636s) under Windows 7 (32bit) I am posting this as I had enormousdifficulty in finding a route by which to install my much loved Epson GT 7000sSCSI scanner under Windows 7 (Home Premium). I will cover what did not work aswell as what did. The scanner was originally running quitehappily with an iWill 2930c card under Windows XP SP3 on my old PC. Changed PC toMedion MD 8339 with Windows 7 and theredid not, at first sight, seem to be any way of getting the scanner working. Epson'ssite indicates that the GT 7000s is not compatible without suggesting asolution. The GT-7000 does not appear on Epson's site as compatible with Win 7. It must be emphasised that my Windows 7O/S is 32 bit - I don't know whether this procedure will work for 64 bit. My original card was a clone ofAdaptec's which is no longer supported and clearly wouldn't do the job.Adaptec's website gave a number of cards that are compatible with Windows 7. Ichose the 29160N as this has the 50 pin external connecter which matches myexisting cables. Others may wish to chose one with a 68 pin external connector.Sourcedone on e-Bay for less than £5 delivered. Downloaded driver file (u160_w7_ws08r2_x86_drv_b7_5_645_100.exe ) from Adaptec site and unzipped it. Installedcard in free PCI slot - (did not connect cable at this stage). First (unsuccessful) method to try andinstall driver- Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware& Sound Under 'Devices and Printers', clicked'Device Manger'. Highlighted 'PC' (top of the 'tree' inlist - may show different description in another installation). Right click tobring up 'Hardware Wizard'. Click 'next'. Select 'Install hardware that Imanually select from a list'. Click 'next'. From the list that comes up select'Storage controllers'. Click 'next'. This is where I got stuck:- The only itemlisted under Adaptec is AIC-7870 PCI SCSI Controller (emulated) and not the29160N. Same result occurred when I got into theHardware wizard by using <winkey>+R and typing 'hdwwiz' into the 'Run' box. Adaptec were helpful, but ultimatelyunsuccessful, in trying to get the card to work. Discussion with them wasongoing when I tried the following, which didwork. I accessed' Device Manager' by:- Start-> Computer -> System Properties tab -> Device Manager. In the list there was an entry under 'otherdevices'. Highlighted this and right clicked. Select 'update driver software'. Highlighted'browse my computer for driver software'. At this point, the software installedand the 29160N showed up in 'storage controllers'. Connected cable and scanner. I used the driver which I had had on myprevious system (twain34.zip) and unzipped. I am not sure if this driver isstill available from the Epson site but it is still available at:- http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=11269 At the first attempt, a warning messagecame up saying 'General file transfer error. Please check location and tryagain. It identified a file in C\USERS\....\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\TEMP1~4.ZIP\DRIVER\EPSCAN2\DATA.1 I located this and deleted (there wasonly a single .isu [uninstall] file), and tried again. This time it worked. At this point I had a fully working setup with one issue - each time I scanned, I got an error message saying 'Errorcreating directory'. Clicking on 'OK' removed the message and allowed the scan, but it came back the next time. I then went into the Epson Scan II properties(Start-> Epson Scan!II 32, right click, click on Properties, click on Compatibilitytab and check 'run in compatibility mode' with Windows XP SP3 in the drop downmenu. This solved the problem. I have since unchecked that box and the problemhas not returned. So don't throw away that GT-7000. It canwork under Windows 7 (at least 32 bit)
