Question about Tecnik TDW2677 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

Motor problem?? The dishwasher takes in water then the water just sits in the bottom of the unit until the end of the cycle, there is no water going through the jets so the dishes are not getting cleaned. You can hear the motor but nothing is actually happening until the end of the cycle when it just pumps the water back out again

I have the same problem. I have checked and cleaned the spray arms, c-tube and filters. I now suspect the motor. Is there a separate motor for draining and washing? Where can I get a copy of a user manual from?

Changed the pump and cleaned all the pipes & tubes. Still the same. Now had enough and I want to replace it. Anyone know the dimensions and can recommend an alternative?

Dishwasher draw not emptying water at end of washing cycle

I am assuming you have a Fisher Paykel or similar double drawer dishwasher. Based on your symptoms it is very likely there is dirt or some blockage in the drain sump which needs to be cleared. If you have followed the normal procedure of cleaning filters etc, and there is no difference then you will have to take a thin rigid metal wire and run it through the channel between the rotor cavity and the drain sump. There could be a seed or a bone chip sitting there. I am assuming the pump rotor runs normal and you can hear water flow through the drain hose into outlet drain. Please provide make and model number of dishwasher for help with better diagnostic.

Dishes not cleaning after full cycle running

Your screens are plugged with food residue in the bottom of the unit. clean it out. You can use 1 gallon of white vinegar for your wash after you clean the screens. Start your washer to fill with water but after the water starts, open your door and pore all of the gallon in the unit. Let it now run for 4 minutes and stop it by opening the door. Leave the door slightly open for 1 hour. close the door and let the cycle continue for 4 more minutes. open the door and repeat it a couple of more times. Let it sit all night with the vinegar in it and in the morning - close the door and let the cycle continue to the end. This should help soften and clean out the food particles in the unit. You can repeat the process and get a better cleaning then too. All the scale should be off your dishes now.

My whirlpool dishwasher just stopped working the middle of the cycle with water still in the bottom and now nothing lights up or comes on and the water is just sitting in the bottom. Any suggestions?

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the cycle doesn't complete, then the first thing that should be checked is the Timer and then the heating element. Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault and required to be replaced. Many dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature. What happens next depends, as follows: On some units, the pause is timed and the unit continues after the allotted time. On others, the cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Frigidaire FDP635RFR3 wont drain.

Theres a drain pump located at the bottom of the unit if you follow the hose from the pump then to the drain if your unit isnt draining you might have to call for service from a technician to have them change your drain pump. If the water is just sitting inside the unit and when u start the unit it should fill with water again. Also if you have a cancel function by pressing this you will make the unit drain if you dont hear anything when u press the cancel button you definetly need a pump

Dishwasher is not draining during washing cycle. Water is always sitting at bottom of dishwasher pan. Also, when the draining cycle is going on the dishwasher (?) pump made a strange sound (not smooth...

Locked rotor on the bottom of the machine. If you remove the bottom plate of the dishwasher where the water valve and electrical hook up is the motor is right there. If the rotor on the motor is locked up the dishwasher will not drain.. If you take a screwdriver and spin the rotor on the back of the motor it may release the rotor. If it does not spin freely then you will need to replace it. Make sure to unplug the dishwasher before doing any repairs to it.

Hope this helped you some

Problems Keeping the cycle going

On the back of the selector switch there is a timer motor or clock motor assembly. The gears wear out or the motor has lost its ability to go through the cycles. Replace it and you should be fine.

Does not drain water after wash/rinse cycles

check the drain pump at the button of the dishwaher.
its not a big job, but it is a pain to take it out.
once you have it out, take a look of the bland on the motor, make sure they are all there, missing bland will cause the water to bunce back and nto drain completely. take a look of the motor, it should turn freely. the pump is oneway. make sure nothing else is broken from the pump and the outlet.
if all failed, replace the pump.

Mike, I just ran into the same problem. I found a second check valve located in the outlet hose of the ELECTRIC drain motor. This motor is located at the right rear underside of d/w and is used only for backflush of the filter. When the unit goes thru a normal drain cycle, this chk valve closes to prevent backflow to lower sump area thereby increasing the pump pressure to the "piston/nut asmy" popping that up to seal that chamber which then forces water to go up to drain.
You've probably fixed or replaced the thing by now but this might help others.
