SOURCE: 5f08, 5e02 error

My Stylus mju-mini was doing this and I found the answer on expansys. Just hold the camera so that the lens is facing up when you turn it on. Works every time for me!

this is the most common problem with the olympus cameras the lens has been knocked and by you pulling on the lens it sounds like you have done some damage to the motor that bring the lens in and out thats why its making that noise what you needed to do was move the lens either to the left or the right you will no when its fixed because the lens just pops out and the camera will be fine this works every time i just hope you havnt done to much damage alredy goodluck

SOURCE: camera olympus error D: 5f08 5e02

The error message (D: 5e02) means that your lens is dying / dead. It just happened to mine and I was told that it could be repaired, but it would cost as much as a new camera. I've only had mine 2 years and I've been really careful with it, so I'm a bit annoyed, but I have used it a lot!

SOURCE: My u700 has error message 5f08 and 5e02

I'm not surprised it doesn't want to work. You could try going to the Olympus web site, support pages and see if there's any firmware upgrades to down load or any info regarding your issue.

But stop beating up the camera.

Error message 5e02: 5f08

Error 5e02: 5f08 means lens error.

Try resetting the camera, by removing the batteries, and by holding down Ok/function button while you turn the camera on.

If the lens do not extract, try helping them out by gently slapping the back of the camera while you turn it on. If they do not retract, try helping the lens back in while turning off the camera.

If that does not help, then the camera need repair service.

The error message (D: 5f08 5e02) means that your lens is dying / dead. It just happened to mine (on the Mju 700, but it's the same thing) and I was told that it could be repaired, but it would cost as much as a new camera. I've only had mine 2 years and I've been really careful with it, so I'm a bit annoyed, but I have used it a lot!
