Well the mixer is optimal way if you are planning to buy another one sometime but if you are to have only one then you need a corrector which changes the signal (preamp)
just ask for a corrector and say your problem in any tech-shop they will help you..

Preamps, turntable and 24bit / 96kHz recording

You need an ADC ( analogue to digital converter) along with a phono preamp to restore the RIAA correction to the turntable output. Check out musicdirect dot com for some examples. Alpha Design Labs makes a great one that retails at $500.

Re: Technics HD51 home stereo system (amp, tuner, CD, and cassette player) - I'm told it needs a pre-amp in order to get any reasonable amount of sound out of lp's on the Linn Sonex LP12 turntable. At the...

The Amplifier must have a high impedance input for the turntable to be connected. Now most of the present day amplifiers do not have this input but only the regular aux input which is designed for a larger signal . But the turntable outputs is quite low and so it requires an amplification of high order. What you can do if you need to play the turntable is to have first a preamplifier with a high impedance which is available even inkit form and can be fitted on to your system. The preamp output can be shared into the input of the source selector maybe with a switch and you willl be able to fix two RCA sockets to accept the input of the phono. This will work fine provided the shielding is done well to avoid the high feedbacck to oascillate and cause noise, the premap must be housed in a shielded cabin. On the other hand you may have to buy a universal amplifier so that the phono input is present. Definetely nothing better than a designed input. So think and decide. hope I could help; Good day

sound like it needs earthed.
there should be a little skinny black wire either coming off the turntable or in between the phono cables screw this to your amp.
if not then check the head shell connection to the tonearm.
if after all that & still on luck the is only one solution left. buy a little mixer & connect the turntable to it then come out the mixer into the amps AUX or CD input.
good luck mate.

Hi Tim,

You probaably do not have a phono input on the digital surround amp you are using. Your sound is bad for 2 reasons
  1. Your Turn Table has low output level, about 100 times less than a CD player.
  2. You need RIAA equalisation to reduce the treble and boost the bass. This is for replaaying any modern vinyl or LP's
You can get an outboard preamp that matches the output of your T/T to suit the normal aux input on todays digital surround amp.
You can get one online from here. Or if you are keen build one from a circuit here

Connecting speakers to amp

Your Amp will be having a pair of Phono / AUX input sockets at the rear. Connect the two Red and White cabbles from the Turntable to these sockets. I am unaware of what are Pilot Speakers. regular speakers have a dual colored pair of cables coming from them. they have to be connected to the speakers Connectors at the rear of the Amp. Play a Vinyl Record, select Phono on your AMP, and enjoy your music.
