Question about Traxxas Rc Revo Nitro Monster Truck

1 Answer

Revo 3.3 top end cuts out after driving for 1 hr in dusty place.. I replaced glow plug, cleaned filter and returned carb back to factory settings. Still have the problem. I also took needle and seat out to see if something was stuck in there, didn't see anything. Also checked fuel lines and replaced gas. Called traxxis and had no real help.

Are you checking your engine temps? These engines do not like to run at more than 240 degrees.

What will make a teryx spit and back fire but u cant drive faster than 5 mph

Do all these:
#1 clean or replace air filter
#2 replace spark plug
#3 have carb professionally cleaned and set. (after the shop cleans and sets the carb they should test drive it.. if it doesn't run properly.. you have already done work they will (would charge $$$ you for).. and it will take some serious professional investigation. Get a K&N filter.

Fs 220 has no power

1. Separate the shaft from the engine unit, and see if it revs out without being under load. If this solves the problem it could point to a clutch/driveshaft/gear head issue.

2. Try re-tuning the carb. unscrew both H and L carb screws 3 or 4 turns, pull over until it fires, it may even run high. Then screw both H and L screws all the way in (clockwise). Turn the H screw out 3/4 of a turn and the L 1 full turn. This should set it back to factory settings, if this hasn't solved the problem then you may be looking at stripping the carb down and replacing diaphragms and cleaning out.

Take apart stihl blower for repair

If you have the correct Stihl hose , then pull air box off and will probably have to remove the 8mm nuts that hold carb on and disconnect the fuel line and fuel return line and throttle linkage. then empty the fuel tank and pull the filter off the end of the hose and remove from the top. You will have to probably make yourself a hook out of rigid wire, hanger works good, just something to hook fuel line to pull through the cap opening so you can pull filter off old hose. then insert new Stihl hose from the top and grab it from the fuel cap hose with needle nose pliers or hemostats and pull gently not cutting the hose but enough to pull hose into tank to where groment on fuel line is in place in tank, then install NEW fuel filter and make sure your return line is good, I would replace both while I'm there, then reassemble it. if it doesn;t run right you may have to pull carb back off and dissemble it and clean it cause it may have sucked dirt through the crack

2007 CRF 450 R- from 1/2 TO full throttle it backfires and cut out,as soon as you release the throttle it comes back to normal.Below 1/2 throttle all is fine.Cleaned the carb ,checked all jets and fuel...

This can only be lack of fuel for some reason backfire is nearly always lean fuel condition and the cut out pretty much confirms lean or no fuel?
I would be checking the size of main jet (they numbered) double check it is factory size? I would check the needle clip position god knows why but people change the position so double check it is factory setting (usually 3 or 4 notches from top is factory setting I forget which one it is for Honda's) I would double check your air filter is clean and/or not oil drenched
refer to your manual or ring your Honda dealer for all the specs
Some other possibilities would be spark plug fail at high load (but unlikely?) stator failing at high RPM ( unlikely but worth the two minute multi meter test to make sure resistances is still in spec)
good luck regards Jamie

How do I replace gas tank lines?

The inlet line will be an .080 x .140. Using side cuts, cut line at a slight angle and feed into tank. Pull through gas cap opening, cut line straight, and install filter. Pull line back into tank so filter lays on bottom. Connect to small carb fitting on side of carb.
The return line is 3/32 x 3/16. Connect one end to pump return next to primer, cut other end at angle and install about 1/2" into tank.
