All lights are blinking, printer doesn't work. What does this mean?

All lights are blinking with an E displayed on my HP PSC 1350 printer. I am using a Vista laptop and I frequently unplug and replug my laptop in as I take it out of my room about 2-3 times per month.

Interestingly enough, half the time when I try to turn it off it turns itself back on after 1-2 seconds. If I successfully turn it off, however, my laptop then recognizes the printer and tries to install the drivers for it (but instead of recognizing it as the hp psc 1350 printer, it calls it something like a hp flash device.) "HEWLETT-PACKARDOFFICE REJET FLASH"

    Please help.

I am now having the same problem; however, I've had the printer almost 3 years now. I've turned it off, unplugged it, held the cancel button for several seconds, jiggled the lid. When I open the front panel where the cartridges are, the carrier does not slide over. I pulled the cartridges off, shook them and put them back in. Turned it off and it still has all flashing lights with the E. HELP! I am completely stumped!

This problem occurs for two reasons: the front panel cover was not installed or the ink cartridge access door was not closed before plugging in the all-in-one.
The front panel overlay must be correctly installed before the power cord is plugged in. Follow the steps below to correct the problem:
Disconnect the power cord.
Lift the scannerall lights are blinking - 4.gif lid and carefully line up and install the front panel overlay.
Plug the power cord in.

let me know if this solves your problem wendy.

I had kept the ink cartridge door open when trying to troubleshoot it. Also, I had not tried unplugging the printer. By closing the ink Cartridge door and unplugging/replugging the power cord, the problem was solved. Thank you very much! You're a life saver!

It turned out that my HP 1350 Printer really needed two new print cartridges as the Error indicated. I had just had both cartridges "refilled" and apparently it was not a successful process. So after my new cartridges were installed, all the blinking lights went off as well as the Error indicator. Problem solved. Dorothy

Blinking lights

Power off printer, remove power plug from printer, remove usb cable from printer, pull out paper and check for jams, check toner cartridge, clean area underneath the toner cartridge head, uninstall printer from windows control panel, reboot computer, plug-in printer with a different working usb cable, plug in power to printer, power on printer, reinstall printer driver. All in those steps exactly. If that doesn't work I would say you have a bad printer on your hands.

Blinking/flashing lights(orange & green) & won;t pring. Have rebooted computer and unpluged printer. still won't print.

that is because ur head of ur printing cartridge is damaged.

remove ur cartridges black as well as color
n install only black cartridge n check d blinking of lights on ur printer if it doesn't blinks it's mean ur black cartridge is OK but ur blinking of light on ur printer is same it's mean ur head of black cartridge is damaged
after this process remove the black one cartridge and install the color one cartridge n check d blinking of lights on ur printer if it doesn't blinks it's mean ur color cartridge is OK but ur blinking of light on ur printer is same it's mean ur head of color cartridge is damaged
now take a dry cotton cloth n gently clean ur cartridges head install both cartridges on ur printer n check ur blinking light on ur printer that will work only if u r too lucky other wise u have to purchase a one cartridge.

My both red light is blinking continuously what i do help me

both light are blinking at the same time or blinking alternatively ?
if both blinking same time, it's a fatal error.. means it could be something wrong with the carriage or board or encoder belt...
if the light blink alternatively, it means the waste ink counter need to be reset and ink pad need to be replaced.

Push it down andoff/on the machine. try it now. or ...go to where I found out more than I should know about Canon's and where I got my quote... good luck.
