If its Vista and if it has a partition with necessary restore files, you can do it. Turn on your PC, go to Startup Repair and select Factory Backup if you see one.

Factory restore sfc00 no discs

Many systems have an option on boot - unfortunately not all are the same, typically F1, F2, F9, F12 etc, this allows you to restore factory settings.
Unfortunately you will probably have to kiss goodbye to any of your personal data unless you can get someone to 'pump' the disk first.

How can i install my dell gx60 to factory setting

Dell computers will have a recovery disc set or recovery partition. If when booting the computer you see a option for (the F# key will vary) F11 Recovery, press that and follow the prompts for a "Destructive Restore" Otherwise you would need to insert the first recovery disc and follow the instructions on your screen. Sometimes the manufacturer doesn't include the discs and there will be a program on your computer to create a set or you can order a set from Dell.

Acer aspire t180 restore to factory settings on start up

You will need to use the recovery discs that came with the computer and boot from the disc and it will give you the option to restore to factory defaults. If you dont have the discs you will need to contact Acer to get a copy.

I want to restore my factory settings

Do you have the restore discs? If not order them or go to Toshiba site and order them or download them if that is the option they provide for you. Also if you have the restore disc then just insert the restore disc and follow the on screen directions.
Make sure that the boot order is set to DVD or CD as the first boot and hard disk as the second boot this should be already set in the BIOS. Order the discs if you do not have them imperative. Thanks for using FixYa!
P.S. If you cannot get a restore disk from Toshiba I use this site for all restore discs. Note you have a PayPal account it is free to get at PayPal.com I use PayPal because I know it is a legit site. Click Here

I have a Compaq Presario V5120nr notebook that needs to be restored to the factory settings. I don't have a cd restore disc. Previously on my other computers, I accomplished this through the bios but I...

Some name brand computer comes with a partition recovery drive which allows you to do a factory restore, which in your case was with your "other computers" If there is a restore partition drive on your laptop you can see it when you first start up your computer and there should be a F-key option display posting you to do a restore. If you don't see this when you start your laptop, this mean that the laptop manufacture did not provide a partition restore space on your hardrive. They either had supplied a restore cd-rom disc when purchased or you have to create one yourself. In acer brand models, you have to create a restore disk yourself. In Hp which does own compaq, they do have this restore option during startup. My advice would be if you check your computer in the Os to see if there is a program that prompt to created a recovery disk, usually it is a compaq sofeware. if not you might need to contact compaq and request a recovery disk for a fee.

HP dv6z will not allow restore to factory settings. Is this function available in is laptop or is it an HP that doesn't have the Restore to factory settings option. Does this mean I need the operating...

hope does not matter only facts and realities. matter
DV6z
first off the model number is wrong.
its DV6z-nnnnnnn like -1000 or ?
and MATTERS BIG TIME, next time use the real model or all anwers for sure, OS reloads, is IMPOSSIBLE.
you never told what OS is on it now, nor what it was day 1, new.
if not the same then the F11 key is useless
the -1000 had VISTA or W7 day new, as an option.
if the F10.F11 key is dead, then the restore partitions are gone or corrupted,
that means what, buy the CD from HP,
The MS disk will fail to load all drivers and all HP apps
so they you go.

see all 6 choices here, it names all ways from sunday
all ways not HP will fail in some way,
The things that fail, will be, drivers, and HP apps.
some drivers sure can be found and installed when missing
from HP
or the chip maker them selfs.

Reset my dell d630 to factory settings

Hi:
The Dell D630 does not have a factory restore partition on the hard drive. Your only option is to use the windows restore feature that is accessable off of the start button, all programs, accessories, system tools. Plan B would be to borrow an operating system disk that matches the Certificate sticker on the bottom of the laptop, and then download all needed drivers from the Dell Website.

Depending on what type of computer you have, most computers have a key you can press during start up that will restore the computer to factory settings, I know the eMachine's have this function as a F11 as with the HP's.

Just been given acer5920 how do yo reset it to factory settings

Keep hitting Alt and F10 keys together when it is first booting to get to the restore routine. This can be tricky so give it a few tries. If the restore partition was deleted this won't work and you would need to reinstall from discs to go back to a fresh install.
