No you will not Lose your music. Your Music is saved onto your computer. You may need to reload your music onto V9 itunes.

If you know where your music is stored on your computer then Just write this down so you know where it is and install the newer version of itunes.

If for any reason it does not automatically load your music on . Just click FILE on the top left of the screen in itunes then go down to add File or add folder then select the folder you store your music under.

Hope this helps you out. if so please leave a Thumbs up

Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a new laptop... I am trying to download music from my computer to my ipod. I think I am missing some kind software to make this happen.

If you do not have iTunes already downloaded onto your new laptop then you need to download it before you can put music from your computer onto your iPod.
Go to this link http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download iTunes (free). Once it is downloaded, you have to import your music that's on your computer onto your iTunes. This will take a while if you have a lot of music.
After that is done, you will be able to plug your iPod into your laptop and iTunes should recognize it and from there you'll be able to put your music onto the iPod.
Remember though, after you format your iPod to a PC you cannot plug it into a Mac (or Mac then to a PC) to put music on it, as it is already formatted to one and if you want music from the other you will have to reformat it which causes you to lose all of your music currently on it.
Be sure that the computer you are formatting it to (PC or Mac) is the kind you will be using for music at all times.
I hope this helps :)

If I reinstall itunes will I lose my entire music library?

Hello there and welcome here

It is always good to have a backup or a copy of the library. I did find this link for you and they say :

"You will not lose the music as others have said,

but you will lose the library, which is an .xml file if i recall. all the library does is links itunes to where all of the files have been stored on your pc/mac.

If you reinstall itunes you would have to copy all of the music back into itunes creating a new library file, that would just take a while depending on how much music you have.

In the itunes menus there is an option to backup your library if you plan to reinstall itunes. "

AND in the itunes support site, they just answer with a no
link:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2087859&tstart=1

So this you have to do, "I recommend you" is to find the backup option on itunes and backup your library of music, after you just copy it to a folder of your wish, you find the solution for this here:

Hope that helps

Downloading music from Itunes

If you really like your music, buy the CD. iTunes is horrible, copy protection etc. It's much better to have an original CD just in case you lose all you iTunes library in an 'unfortunate' power surge.

Trying to add songs from my computer to my ipod using windows media player trying to sync it for music on windows vista well under sync tab it does not reconize the device keeps saying connect a device

iPods connect to your computer via iTunes.
You can download iTunes here free: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
All the music files currently in your Windows Media Player can all be transferred into iTunes, so no worries about losing your music.

Hope that helps.

Music on apple 80 gig ipod

I honestly don't think you can. If the music isn't on your hard drive that is on your iPod then you WILL lose it if you sync it with the musicless iTunes. To my knowledge you have to re-download what's on your iPod (playlists and all) and if you add or subtract anything and sync that's what you'll have on your iPod.

Conecting withmy laptop

Download the latest version of itunes onto your pc from here
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ it is free. This will let you load music and videos for your ipod then sync your ipod, and let your view your music vids etc,,, using itunes.

If you do not want to lose anything from your ipod that you have already saved then click on the link below and download the program. It will export your ipod data into itunes, so you will not lose anything you already have on there. Once you have created a library in itunes you only need to plug in your ipod and it will automatically update your ipod using the playlist you created.

Extra downloads

you won't remove whats there unless you sync your ipod to another computer with itunes, use iTunes for all your music sync. Just copy your other music to it, by dragging to an open iTunes window. Add the new content to your playlist, or via settings in itunes (with your IPod connected) sync. :)
