You press the power button on your computer and nothing happens

1. Find out if computer has power.
Are fans running, lights on? When there are no signs of power, 99.9% of the time its a faulty power supply. Before you replace power supply try this.Unplug the power cord to the PC, wait approx 10 mins and plug back in. Does the computer power on now? If so, it may have been a power surge that the PC experienced. You may want to invest in an Uninterruptible Power Supply unit.
2.Computer is turning off by itself.
This can be a electrical short to a serious hardware issue. Open the computer case and inspect the wiring. Make sure there is no chafing or exposed direct contact with metal. Look for loose connectors. Connectors can become unseated. Inspect and reseat all connections.
3.Computer beeps shortly after powering on.
The beeps are error codes and can be used to troubleshoot computer search google for number of beeps
4. PC powers on and display codes.
POST (Power On Self Test) codes, are usually specific to the manufacturer. It’s best to go to manufacturer support website the codes can point you in the right direction. If you get “No hard drive connected” error, reset the connectors on the hard drive and test again.
5. Computer turns on but the operating system wont load completely.
Boot up in safe mode by pressing F8 during boot up, select safe mode with networking and after everything loads, boot back up in normal mode. If you installed any recent drivers you can uninstall them and see if that helps if this is not helpful most of the time you will have to use a restore disk and put computer back to factory settings.

Acer Aspire One D250-08K Need to restore to factory settings and i have no disc. Screen is black. On start up pressed ALT F10 then nothing happens

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,

When the air conditioner goes on it shows "E2"and nothing else happens what can be done to solve the problem?

The E2 Code, indicates a Sensor or System Failure, But, before calling Haier, try this.
Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF & unplug the unit for 15 minutes. Then plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Hopefully, the unit's electronics during that 15 minute timeout, have reset itself and reverted back to the original factory settings. If so, it was a false code. If it didn't reset itself, contact Haier Customer Support 1-877-337-363.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know.

I bought eight dvds of Jeeves & Wooster, I think it is a US production, it won't play in my recorder. I was told if I changed the area code 00, it would work. I followed instructions of Victor,...

Hi mwdiadem ,

Panic is unavoidable in case we are worried about something which we are not much aware.

The problem that you have mentioned about factory settings is nothing to worry about.

Factory settings are jut the default settings that are set by the manufacturer for the DVD player , this will not harm your dvd player but in case there are any incorrect settings by you , you can anytime choose this option to go back to the default for the dvd player...:)

Hope this helps ...:)

Hi, I am trying to reset my acer desktop to factory settings. I have tried the acer erecovery management restore and nothing happened. I have also hit delete at startup and clicked "restore default...

You can download the windows installation from the Microsoft website, and run it. Select the Custom Install option to run a Clean Install and select to Reformat the drive, this would clean the drive and reinstall windows, which would reset everything to the factory settings.
That's an alternate route to go if the recovery software on your computer is not functioning properly.
Hope this helps!

If you are running Windows XP do a system restore. But BEWARE. You will lose everything you have installed since you started operating.

Picture problem

DM on is Demo Mode, sounds like error is saying what is wrong inside. Water leak will definately do it. Try unplugging and using a hair dryer or some type of compressed air but not too much blow out back of set. Let dry completely and try again. If giving you error codes then it's not a total loss yet.
